Yeah we should defeinitely be after players who in the past 24 months have been discarded by us for not being good enough in the first place, and then refused by Italian clubs.

FUCK AQUILANI.

I feel the days of Liverpool FC being a bit crap in business dealings are over.
[/quote]

They're still thinking we'll do a Poulsen

I'd take him back in a heartbeat.

If Spearing, Lucas and Christ even Maxi can look better players under Kenny then surely he is worth a go as well.

For the record, we've been complaining about squad depth for a long time. How can someone reject having Aquilani back. Imagine the squad we'll have next season:

GK: Reina, Gulacsi

RB: Johnson, Kelly. Bonus: Flanagan
RCB: Carra, new CB
LCB: Skrtlel, Agger
LB: new LB, Aurelio. Bonus: Robinson

DM: Lucas, Spearing, new DM. Bonus: Connor Coady
CM/AM: Meireles, Gerrard, Aquilani. Bonus: Suso

RW/RM: Kuyt, Marveux. Bonus: Sterling
LW/LM: New winger, Maxi

ST: Suarez, Carroll, New striker

Depending on how good the new arrivals will be, that is IMO at least a title challenging team.

I watched about 7 minutes of a Juve game on Setanta recently. Aquilani jumped so far out of a tackle, he nearly ended up in the crowd. Good to see he's still a massive shithouse anyway.

Aquifanni.

That I cant argue with. But I understand considering his previous injury.
However I'm not expecting him to be a ball-winner if he returns.

Oh stop would you. He was discarded by Roy, hardly a bad thing - having had very little chances to establish himself. We can all agree there's a good chance Kenny will bring the kid up a notch. The Italian clubs are just refusing to sign for $ reasons. I say we flog him back to Roma.

I suspect we're not going to be able to flog him for much though; the whole world knows he desnt want to come back to Liverpool

But several clubs would want a player like him around Europe. I dont think we'll have any problems selling him. If Juve doesn't want to pay up, then sell him to someone else.

Aquilani is quality. He showed as much in the fleeting appearances he made under Rafa, he is unfortunately though a bit of a bottler it would seem. Regards selling him, if Juve knock us back because of the price and as said, everyone knows he wants to leave, I can't see us getting much either.

So much for the point of agreeing a fee with Juventus.. Stupidest transfer ever, and we got Poulsen for 4.5 mill £ in the other end.

*Slits wrists*

Doesn't mean we should bend over and take it up the arse. Juve are trying to get him on the cheap after a fee was agreed which is pretty snidey but what else do you expect from the Italians. They know the price. Pay it or fuck off I say.

Juventus are chasing Pirlo, who will be available on a free at the end of the season.

Rumours suggest that Pirlo moving to Turin is possible.

Aquilani is a similiar player to Pirlo so an obvious target of Milan. Another player who they might go after as a cheaper option is Riccardo Montolivo from Fiorentina (a life long Milan fan too).

Still, Milan have to sort out the deal for Boateng before they go chasing players.

This exactly. Also, tell them not to bother trying to open any transfer talks with us anytime soon. They want to play silly buggers after agreeing a deal, then fuck them.

In fairness, it was Hodgson's decision to let him go out on loan. Which most would agree, was a pretty fucking stupid decision given our lack of options in midfield.

I'm not saying he'll make it big here, but there's no doubting he has talent, and given the upturn in form of some of our more average players under Kenny, I wouldn't be too disappointed to see how he might affect a player like Aquilani's form.

I'm delighted, because I'd love him back, and their fucking around makes that a possibility.

Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani remains confident of signing permanently with Juventus.

Aquilani featured in last night's draw against Chievo. And afterwards he was asked about the prospect of signing for Juve with the deadline for an agreement only days away: "I always knew this day would come."Now everything must be assessed. There's a deadline, but I am calm."

Less than a wk to go, do you reckon we will give in to Juve's bargaining?

Like I've said before, I wouldn't mind having him back but he has made it clear that he doesn't want to leave Italy. So, no compromises. He still has 3 years left in his contract.

That deadline is only to sign him at that value. They or whomever else can do what the fuck they like with him afterwards, surely?

Yeah, my concern is (1) he might 'fight'/sulk for a move to Juve (2) with Juve - his supposedly preferred destination, out of the picture other suitors probably won't stamp up as high a fee. In short, its either we have him back, sell him to Juve at the agreed price or sell him at a lower one (to Juve or anyone else).

Yeah. I think he'd thrive on having Suarez's movement to play off. Honestly, with the kids coming through, and Gerrard back we don't need a CM. A a top, top, attacking LM and a top CB, and we have a team to challenge.

Do you believe him ? he doesn't want to come back here at all . I mean don't get me wrong , i would love him to come back and become a star but apart from glimpses here and there he never looked anything like a £17m player ...in fact i don't think i've ever seen anyone shat themselves on a prem pitch like he did . No , he's best staying in Italy where he can pussy foot about.

If we can get £11-14M to re-invest in the team then we should definitely go for it - but if not then I'd be interested to see what Dalglish can do with him.

Loaning him out was crazy.

I think the main reason for loaning him out was in the hope of preserving his value . If we'd have kept him and he had another season with injuries and being a bit part player , he would then have been close to worthless in the English market and the Italians wouldn't be willing to fork out as he'd have been seen as a risk. We needed to get him back to a league he was use to , to a market that would be interested due to his previous history and hope he regained some form. And thankfully it looks to have worked that way so we are now in a pretty strong position if we choose to sell him.
