Re: Aquilani

Ok, if yer finished hijacking this important thread 😉

This is what my friend, a ROMA and MAN U Fan, and a journalist said

For people like me who don't follow Serie A

"He's a gifted lad, classy on the ball, etc and has won a few full caps but very injury prone - only played a handful of games last year.
He's a product of Roma's youth system and a favorite there for that reason but the fans' consensus seems to be that if they have to lose one of their stars to get money they prefer it to be him rather than De Rossi, Vucinic or the center backs Mexes and Juan.

Could be good in EPL if he stays fit but the transition to the blood & thunder of England often seems to be tough for more technical players.

An interesting thing about Aquilani is that he's from a very wealthy Roman family - can't see him scrapping in night clubs with Stevie and Jamie."

Re: Aquilani

he lied, the last part sentence isn't very interesting.

If Xabi goes then i'm glad we've actually lined up a replacement for him, but having never seen him play I will reserve judgement until I do.

A fifth fella too called Multi-Faceted!

Re: Aquilani

The physical adaption is a bit bollocks if you ask me, we had the same argument about Robinho. And it worked out.
The same with Deco, Luis Garcia, Geovanni.
The lad is 6"2 and fit. It won't be a problem.

Hopefully the injury prone thing will be a thing of the past.

Wait a minute, didn't we fail to sign England's top striker, on a free, with reduced wages, and let our arch rivals sign him instead - because he was injury prone.

Bad sarcasm here. Hopefully the Italian will do well, but still don't get why we didn't sign owen.

For what it's worth, I asked my friend if Man U signed he how would he feel. He said "underwhelmed". It's enough for me to be sure, we won't be able to replace ALONSO anytime soon. Our title challenge suffers another blow..

Underwhelmed? Cheely cunt. Owen, Obertan and Valencia. You look up underwhelmed in the dictionary it says 'see man utd transfer activity 2009'

Re: Aquilani

You tell'm Oncy.

I'll be a long time dead before I ask a Man Utd fan for his opinion on a Liverpool player. In fact, if my head is cryogenically frozen, as I intend, I'll never ask a Man Utd fan for that kinda input, even if it's the year 2792 by the time they defrost me and Man Utd aren't even in the big 4 anymore.

I prefer my friend, he doesn't support Man Utd for a start.

My friend > your friend
[/quote]

I like your logic.

I prefer your friend for the same reason.

Re: Aquilani

Ive watched the italian league and seen aquilani play when he has been fit. when he is fit he is unbelievable so if he can stay fit i think we have found a perfect replacement if not a more attacking replacement for xabi =]

Yeah, it was really shite for them to get 80M for one player...

He's a lifelong Roma fan, which is why he was asked..

I'm not making this a battle of the friends, it's just this Acuilani signing if it happens, seems to be another Riera style signing....potential occasionally delivered, but a long way from top drawer...

We're essentially interested in signing something less than the Italian Gareth Barry!

Anyway, we'll see...

Oncy does and he's assured us all that he'll be fucking brill. If by some chance he turns out shite, we all know who to blame (not Rafa).

Re: Aquilani

Lol, yes and if he succeeds, we'll not care. Should he fail, please note, I coined the phrase, "Italian Gareth Barry", a contradiction in terms. Anyone able to create a photoshop impression of such an image?

Re: Aquilani

Gonna be brutally honest. Haven't seen alot of this guy, but watched a couple youtube clips and he appears to have one hell of a shot, and seems to get forward when he can. Perhaps he could be key in chipping with a couple extra goals from which xabi could not offer. Of course his passing is not on the same level, but his passing doesn't seem too shabby either. He will offer more of an attacking edge. Mascherano will defend, he will attack providing amunition for Gerrard,Torres and player x (hopefully silva).
