Andre Villa Boas

What is harder to fathom, still, is Andre Villas-Boas' treatment of Fernando Torres.

Roman Abramovich may want Villas-Boas to succeed but he did not spend £50million on Torres to see the striker stuck on the bench for four games in a row.

Villas-Boas appeared to suggest that Torres had not taken his chance and that Drogba's reliability made him the better option.

"Fernando had a good run when he performed for the team but we decided in this run to go with Didier for consistency and to give the team a reference point," said the manager.

"It's a risk he may suffer from tiredness but it was worth the risk. I'm sure Fernando and the others will get a chance in the future."

Maybe they will but Torres, surely, needs to play to lift his inner doubts.

The desperation of the home fans to see him on the pitch and find the back of the net was evident
, a welcome boost for a player who is clearly suffering from the burdens of expectations, both from supporters and within himself.

Yet Torres has played just 19 minutes in the last three games, after a 45-minute run-out at Blackburn. Leave him out once more against Liverpool and it will start to look as though the manager has no faith at all.

I bet kenny doesn't sleep a wink over the weekend when he finds out that he's responsible for AVB losing his job! 😉

2157: Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas says: "I thought Liverpool were superior all the way through. They had a strong desire to kill the game off and we couldn't match it." Very honest words from AVB.

Basically, he needs to clear out a ton of them twats, before he can really implement what he wants and I don't actually care.

Yeah he needs to get rid of Terry, Lampard, Drogba, Anelka and perhaps Torres.

I doubt he'll get the chance to, though.

And Malouda (sp?)

If he flicks Torres, what will Mata do ?

He reckons Torres being there was the biggest inducement for his decision to sign for blah blah and it's all bullshit and I really don't care !

Yeah Malouda too.

I dont know. I doubt Mata would leave because of it, but I don't think AVB fancies Torres. I think that was more to do with Abramovich sticking his oar in again. Which is why I doubt AVB will get the time to do what he wants.

It astounds me how successful businessmen can continue to look like fucking muppets when it comes to running a football club.

Perhaps consider using the private message feature and not the football forum for this sort of thing.

Quite a few people here this summer rather saw us hiring this kid from Portugal over the King. I guess that feeling has gone now.

They're still ahead of us in the league. Let's not get carried away with how shit AVB is or how amazing Kenny is.
