Watching Ancelotti on SSN now and he sounds EXACTLY like Steve McClaren on that dutch interview.
His English is perhaps slightly better.

Is he only 49?

I thought he was late 50's at least!

Pfff

Rafa looks a lot older than he is too.

All these young slick managers in their nicely tailored suits are making the fat boys look bad.

Ancelotti played in the WC 94, Capello was his manager at Milan then.

Crikey

He has aged pretty quickly has Carlo.

Mind you, that divvy Capello dyes his hair and has false teeth.

I couldnt believe it when I heard Ancelotti was only 49.

Personally, I'm just glad Hiddink has gone. Admittedly, all the players knew they were a safe bet as he wasnt going to sell any of them, however, the impact he had on their season was tremendous and I wouldnt have wanted them to carry on into next.

Ancelotti now has to go in and try and impose his own style and tactics so Chelsea are back to square 1. Throw in a few new players as well as Ancelotti getting used to Premier League football, and it all (hopefully) adds up to the Chavs getting off to a slow start.

AC Milan general manager Adriano Galliani revealed several players were reduced to tears when they heard coach Carlo Ancelotti was leaving for Chelsea.

Ancelotti confirmed his contact at the San Siro had been terminated by mutual consent, ending an eight-year reign, and the Blues officially announced his appointment on Monday.

The Italian broke the news to his team following the 2-0 win at Fiorentina which secured automatic qualification for next season's Champions League.

Emotions were already running high in Milan with veteran defender Paolo Maldini playing his final game for the club, and Galliani admitted Ancelotti's exit had been hard to take.

"My relationship with him has been more as a friend than as a manager and to see him on the Chelsea website holding a Chelsea shirt has left its mark on me,'' said Galliani. "I am still in a bit of shock after yesterday with the emotion of the game and then in the dressing room.

"I spoke first and thanked him and Paolo Maldini and remembered these eight years and a lot of players were crying.

"Above all I can remember (Gennaro) Gattuso, who was the closest to me, and he had tears in his eyes. I only mention Gattuso because he was close to me, but others had tears in their eyes as well.''

Former Milan player Leonardo has already been appointed as Ancelotti's replacement and Galliani continued: "I don't think there are any clubs who have ended their relationship with a coach and then, that same night, gone out for a meal together.

"Last night Carlo, Leonardo and I went out to eat together and we spoke about the Milan formation for the future. It was a really pleasant evening.''

Leonardo revealed Ancelotti encouraged him to step into his shoes.

"Yesterday was an extraordinary day, to see all the players crying,'' he said. "Carlo is the man who has pushed me the most to take on this challenge.

"I have had a very friendly relationship with Carlo all this time and he has not only wished me good luck and given me a lot of advice, but he has inspired me a lot.''

no Kaka for you!

I DON`T WANT TO LEAVE MILAN - KAKA
Posted 02/06/09 09:25EmailPrintSave

AC Milan star Kaka has reiterated that he does not want to leave San Siro, as reports suggest he is set to follow Carlo Ancelotti to Chelsea.

Speculation has suggested that informal talks over a £70million deal have already started as the Blues look to tempt the Brazilian to the Premier League, while returning Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is also a long-term admirer.

Ancelotti's appointment as manager at Stamford Bridge was confirmed on Monday and the Italian is set to begin a three-year contract at the beginning of July with the aim of securing the UEFA Champions League.

It is rumoured that Kaka is top of the 49-year-old's wanted list as he plans tweaks to his inherited, ageing squad, with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich understood to be prepared to spend big this summer.

But Kaka, who broke into the Milan side under former boss Ancelotti, insists he is staying in Italy, telling Gazzetta dello Sport: "I say it for the last time. I don't want to leave Milan."

The playmaker appeared to be on the verge of a world-record switch to Manchester City in the winter transfer window before the deal collapsed as Milan opted out of selling.

Kaka's potential move to Eastlands was shrouded in controversy as it was suggested the player was being forced out of Italy against his wishes.

The 27-year-old has now stated that he will make no further comment upon his future so that there is no confusion over his desire to stay at Milan.

"In this period I prefer to remain silent because I don't want to be misunderstood," he added.

"To the millions of Milan supporters, I say that I have made my choice. I want to stay."

Kaka admits that he is in a debt of gratitude to Ancelotti after he was offered the opportunity to shine.

"I owe him a lot. He opened the doors for me in Italian football," he concluded.
