Arsenal are leading the race to sign Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez, according to reports from Spain.
Liverpool and Juventus are also keen on the forward, who is believed to be available for the bargain price of £20-million.
Gunners boss Wenger has been a long-term admirer of the Barca attacker and is ready to pounce with the Arsenal board having given him access to a kitty believed to hold as much as £200-million this summer.
However, Liverpool are hot on their heels as they target another Permier League title challenge with Brendan Rodgers hinting he would like to strengthen the Reds attacking force.
But it is thought Sanchez would prefer a move to the capital, with doubts over how his skills would compliment Liverpool's main man Luis Suarez at Anfield.
Still only 25, Sanchez scored 25 goals last season while notching another 19 assists.

THINGS ARE GETTING SWARM: Thousands of bees have been spotted swarming around Horsham

THOUSANDS of bees are reported to have been swarming around parts of Horsham this afternoon.
"Warnings" have been shared online that huge swarms of the insects have been seen around Crawley Road, close to Roffey, looking "very angry".
One concerned resident posted online: "Please wind up your windows if going that way, (I) wouldn't have realised but my daughter saw them and there were thousands just above the cars and circling (a) tree and (they) looked very angry - guessing someone should be notified?"
There has also been a sighting of a swarm of bees in the North Heath Lane and Pondtail Road area.
With regards to this sighting, a resident warned: "There were thousands, (it was) like something from one of those America's Deadliest Encounters programs.
"They're probably not out to get you but it certainly makes you run indoors when they fly over."

Bees must be angry with all the shite transfer rumours.
On a sidenote, Barca have announced that Gerard Deulofeu and Rafinha Alcantára will be back from loan. The latter was on loan at Celta and played under Luis Enrique.
Everton are fucked. Duelofeu, Lukaku and Barry all returned to owners. They will have to spend their Summer kitty just to get Barry & Lukaku back and so remain static. Unless they sell Barkley.
We have a top striker who played for Celta under Luis Enrique. Any chance Enrique wants him at Barca?
I'm afraid not, mate. That top striker didn't play under Enrique, who only joined Celta in 2013/14.
