Smells like a Spurs signing.

On average Alexis Sanchez was the most frequently fouled player in Serie A in 2010-11 (one every 20m48s)

At least he's not coming to the EPL. Think he'll be more suited to the La Liga too.

The reports I read on this made me laugh, there is definitely a Man U bias at work!

Somehow when they miss out on Sanchez it's because they didn't really want him etc but not so for embarrassed Man City.... When we decide that Marveaux is a crock and Newcastle signed him instead he suddens becomes an exciting winger and we have been cruelly beaten to the punch....

Shite.

I'm glad they missed out on him the wankers.

If you were Sanchez, and Barca came after you ... you'd be crazy to go anywhere else!

It's a safe move and the right move.

Read somewhere its like 25mil upfront + 5mil add-ons + jeffren going the otherway

Udinese Sporting Director and also Chile national team federation have confirmed its close to being completed.

Inter have admitted defeat in the chase to sign Udinese ace Alexis Sanchez. “We can’t afford him,” said Marco Branca.

Speaking with the BBC, the Nerazzurri technical director revealed that they couldn’t compete with Barcelona and Manchester City for the Chilean.

"Sanchez is a player we liked,” Branca told BBC Sport on Wednesday afternoon.

Manchester City raised their bid for him to €35m plus a bonus, which ruled us out of the race.

"In the end, the player preferred to go to Barcelona and they got him for €28m and a €10m bonus. Not many clubs can afford that."

Sanchez’s proposed move to Barca has not been confirmed.

Re: Re: Alexis Sanchez

He's like messi in regards of he makes it look so easy. Not as good as him (obviously) but a real talent

Rumours spreading that Sanchez has had a change of heart and is City bound.

If he chooses City over Barca because of money he's a moron.

Udinese have warned Barcelona and Manchester City that Alexis Sanchez will only be sold for €50m.

Barca are understood to have offered terms which could see the Italian outfit eventually net €38m, while it is understood that City have bid even more.

However, the Stadio Friuli outfit are insisting that both clubs will have to dig deeper into their pockets to secure the Chilean international.

“Is €50m not too much? No, it doesn’t seem enough,” Udinese patron Gianpaolo Pozzo told Spanish newspaper AS.

I have no doubt that if he stayed with us for another year he would be worth even more than that. He’s the best player of his generation. He’s like Cristiano Ronaldo when he was 22.

“We look after hundreds of players, we’ve been in this business for some time and we know when we have a diamond. Alexis Sanchez is one.

“If a club wants him then they will have to pay his price in full and that is €50m.”

It’s understood that Sanchez is in favour of a switch to the Nou Camp and Pozzo believes the move would make sense for the European champions.

“He’s the cherry on the cake which [Barca boss Pep] Guardiola is missing, a player who can make the difference,” Pozzo added. “When you buy someone you shouldn’t just look at his price tag.

Manchester City have made us a more generous offer than Barcelona. But if Cesc Fabregas is worth €40m, Neymar €45, then I say €50m for Sanchez.

Reports have suggested that a switch could be sealed soon, but Pozzo has indicated that we’ll have to wait a while longer before Sanchez’s future is resolved.

“I think that if a deal is done then it will happen at the last minute on the last day. That’s normal in cases like this. I repeat, I’m in no hurry to sell Alexis.”

And yet Barca are still dragging their heels over making Arsenal a decent offer for Fabregas - after banging on for ages how much they desperately want him....

Will this now trigger a bunch of transfers? Aquilani to Udinese? Udinese to spend lots of cash on some Italian and that team to purchase Aquilani?

Maybe this is the transfer that enables us to get our last targets, well, indirectly.

I doubt that. Udineses policy is to develop young players and sell them on. Low wages and low transfer fees.
Aqua is neither.

Barca don't need Fabregas yet. They're just keeping him interested.

They'll wait until he's available at the right price, when his contract is closer to expiring. Same old shit, different summer. Fabregas signed some crazy 8 year contract.

i bet barca don't even bother making a 'proper' bid for cesc.

maybe he'll end up somewhere unexpected - like real madrid or something, as barca really don't need him.
