The reason why we keep looking at utility players is because we keep trying to plug too many weaknesses...we need to stop doing that...we need a good winger and a good striker, so let's get someone who can do both...that's fine, but I'd much rather one good winger AND one good striker 🙁

Sanchez is a splendid winger but he can be used behind the striker as well.

Suarez is a splendid forward but can be used on the wing as well.

There's only a problem if the player in hand is not good enough to play wherever he gets played. In my humble opinion of course.

This.

As long as we don't buy a Maxi type, who fills several positions without being noticed.

We have enough average utility players, time to stockpile on quality specialist that go straight into the starting XI.

I'm all for specialists, but I don't have a problem - why would anybody? - with specialist players who are also able to play elsewhere in case of need, as Sanchez seems to be.

I have nothing against general purpose forwards / attacking midfielders that can play wide or central. As long as they are quality then we can use them.

Sanchez would be a great signing. Him and Suarez attacking together would be terrifying.

Great goal scored today, in Udinese's 4-0 away win at Cagliari. They're well on cause for CL qualification.

Video includes 2 of his assists in the same match.

Nice little clip. Showed good awareness and nice touches. Tho the defending was poor on his goal.

Arent those the pratical type players to get in? It seems most South American forwards can play across the front 3. Look at Sanchez, Suarez and Tevez just to name a few.

Okay so we know that Sanchez > Young.

But is Hazzard > Sanchez.

Who is the winger we should be doing everything to get? I think i'm sold on Sanchez now.

What's this Sanchez chap going to cost then? 20m+?
[/quote]

Pretty much, yeah.

I can see us bidding for both Sanchez and Hazard this summer.
Either of them would improve us greatly.

Read on another site that Comolli has been doing a lot of groundwork regarding Hazard and a summer move. He'll cost a fortune though, if we pull it off.

i like sanchez more...even though i've seen neither of them for any extended period

A lad over on RAWK, who was spot on with everything in january regarding Carroll and Suarez, has posted that our two top targets for this summer are Hazard and Sanchez...

Fuck me if thats correct.

It'd be insane if we managed to get both of those players. I think the excitement levels for the new season would be through the roof.

That 'next year is our year' brigade will be out in force!

MANCHESTER CITY are ready to sign hot Chilean attacker Alexis Sanchez in a stunning £24 million deal – their first big capture for NEXT season.

Supremo Brian Marwood has been to Italy twice in the past couple of weeks to tie up a move for the exciting South American who has been starring for Udinese in Serie A.

Sanchez, one of his country’s stars in the last World Cup, can play anywhere in the attack and looks a ready-made replacement for unsettled problem boy Mario Balotelli – or even skipper Carlos Tevez if he leaves.

Italian sources reveal Marwood has met Udinese officials and the player’s representatives as he closes in on the coup – with City’s Arab rulers ready to pay for one of the world’s best young talents.

Sanchez, 22, is willing to come to England although he is also being courted by Inter Milan after stunning displays for his modest Italian club.

City want to succeed where today’s top-four rivals Chelsea have failed. Roman Abramovich wanted Sanchez in January but the offer of £20 million was rejected.

Ambitious City will go higher and insiders in the deal claim is “closer than close†to being agreed as Udinese admit that a sale will happen – but will try to push the price up to £30 million.

City are confident they can land Sanchez for £24 million and offer him a deal that no other club can match.

Hopefully he watched last nigths game then.

Complete no-brainer as to which team to chose.

The only problem with that is that Citeh give you your own Batmobile and three Miss Worlds as a signing on gift. Until we match that we've got no chance of competing in the transfer market.

Could this make Adam Johnson available? I would take him in a heartbeat. The only City player to have shown anything last night.

That is of course a darkhorse in negotiations.

The Batmobile rocks.
