Fair enough.

I just don't get what all the fuzz is about really. If I were the manager I'd pick players like Agger ahead of players like Skrtel any day of the week especially as Carra's set for the other spot.

I guess it all comes down how you'd like to see us play really.

Agger is better than skrtel by far problem is Agger gets injured to often .

I reckon we need a brand new defence, with possibly the exception of Johnson
I beg to differ.

Carra and Agger deserve to stay more than Johnson. But Agger's injury record means, his future with us needs to be carefully evaluated as well. I won't have a problem with Konchesky staying on and accepting a designated second choice left-back role either. The rest of the players can all get to fuck.

We also need to keep in mind that we are evaluating our players off the back of 12-16 very wretched months of football, where the team has suffered due to off-the field events (i'm not saying that is a justified excuse, but that is what happened.)

So perhaps we shouldn't make any knee-jerk reaction at this point?

I know its sounds knee-jerk its based on Carra being on a downward slope, Agger and Skrtel failing to convince, and Konchesky being shite.

Johnson is the only one who has 'potential' and if we can get him back to his Portsmouth form and the form he was in when he first joined, he's a good option.

I probably wouldnt actually bin Skrtel as he'd be ok for backup. My heart would also have Carra in at CB.

I'm a huge Agger fan but even I concede that he can't go on like this.

A fit Agger is my first choice CB, however therein lies the problem.

No, he isn't.

agger is no way loads better than skrtel. He's better, but not by much

The large majority agree that Agger is better than Skrtel.

That's the general consensus!

So everything henceforth is a moot point! Close the thread.

But Agger is never fit and thus the consensus is invalid.

I f he can't keep himself in one piece he's hardly gonna keep a broken vase together is he

If any more evidence were needed of how much the hype around Agger is generated through talk than performances on the pitch, then this thread is it.

"Gerrard&Carra bust up with Nando", a thread about our 3 best players falling out - 6 pages

Thread about the Danish Darren "Sicknote" Anderton - 7 pages.

You'd like an awful rumour thread to be more than 3 pages?

Nice.

Mark started this thread only to have another go at Agger. Fact. That we are some who doesn't believe he deserves that and believe the manager has made a mistake to go 'on air' with his comments is the reason it's continued on. Stop whining about it.

Any news when he's expected to be fit?

Because the Hansenite really isnt relevant until then,Kris.
He should be ready for the weekend so Roy can yet again use him as sub for Konchesky.

He did look very good for Denmark and by his own words he's feeling far better in his back now than in a long time. He looked more agile and fitter than last Season too.

My biggest fear is that when Konchesky is fit and if Agger is at CB,he'll break down again after 3 games and we'll seeing the same arguments about him all over again for another 10 pages.

It's a shit whoosh,Roland.

Sorry.
How can the Rooney whoosh be shit? Everytime I see Sunny's name I laugh out loud!

Oh, the Rooney whoosh was great.

Thought your Agger post was a whoosh.

Though I think Squiggles whoosh was much better; I nearly threw my laptop at the TV.

Didn't think it was possible for someone to be so blindly patriotic as LeTallecZionist but wow KHL blows him away.

It's far more relevant to us, given they're our three most important players, than - surprise surprise - Daniel Agger getting injured.

Besides let's face it. There are some of us, like Mark, who don't believe that he deserves all the adulation and believe the manager was within his rights to criticize selfish behaviour. Stop...

Ok, I'll have to agree to disagree with you on Agger. Apologies if offence taken.

I think that Agger is a better footballer than Skrtel but because of Aggers injury record and, as it seems, his quite poor attitude I´d rather play Skrtel.

(And to compare Agger with Sami in any way is just stupid)

What an embarrassing post.

FWIW I would play Agger ahead of Srktel but Agger needs to justify his new contract, find fitness and force his way onto the team.
