Agger

he's been pissed off since agger missed that free header. that must have been the closest the useless cunt hodgson can remember being to 3pts, so now he holds a grudge against one of our few talented players. fucking hell he makes me sick with every passing minute

This thread wasn't intended to be about Roy. The point is, he fucked off on International duty after being injured, and came back injured, and now he's declared himself unavailable because he's sick.

And if people want to make it about Roy, yeah he's been frustrating in the media, but is he really wide of the mark about Agger or wrong to question him? Any player would have got stick for going away on International duty on the back of an injury and coming back injured, and they'd certainly get it for declaring themselves too sick to play. Riera and Aquilani got enough shit for EXACTLY the same reasons last season, and rightly so.

Is Roy hoping to turn fans against Agger or what is his purpose with those comments? He's the one not playing him in the first place and now he's bitching about him beeing sick - in the press? What kind of manager would do that in times of trouble aside from a terrible one?

He's acting like a child really and is in way beyond his depths at Liverpool. Hopefully he'll be well gone before any of our key-players.

Amazing comments in this thread btw.

"He doesn't even care about football"

WTF?
He's said that in the past, KHL.

Given you blindly idolise him I'm surprised this is news to you.

I'd rather see him at DM than his compatriate Poulsen or Lucas. At least he can pass.
I can't see Agger in midfield at all.

Yeah he did say it, he said he had basically no interest in football.

Well apart from playing the game himself. It's no secret that he doesn't care much for watching it on TV aside from Brondbys games whenever possible.

But what has those comments got to do with anything? How does it matter? He loves Liverpool FC and has said so numerous of times.

It's still 83 games more than Sami had played for us at his age mind.

He's obviously been too injured over the years but let's not kid ourselves here he's still a young player for the CB position and with the potential to become one of the very best.

If he's getting sold come January because of Roys dislike of him I'd be absolutely livid and everyone with love for Liverpool FC should be too. Even Mark.
HAHA, I know you have some man love for Agger, and yes, Hodgson's comments are distasteful, but really, you're on one slippery slope comparing Agger with Sami in any way.

Let's start with how many games each player has played for Liverpool in their first 5 years.

There's a reason why Agger, for all his "obvious potential", cannot be considered a Liverpool legend like Sami is. Playing a mite more would be a damn good start.

I've been meaning to ask you KHL, does it make you hate Hodgson even more that he has moved the previously positive 'good to shit' Danish LFC players ratio into the other direction?

Before you had Molby and Agger as good versus only one shit in Piechnik.

Now Poulson has come in firmly on the shit Danish players side and Agger is moving worryingly away from the good camp too!

This thread was meant as another dig at Agger. Blindingly obvious mate.

At least just say it as it. You don't like him. You think he's an overrated crook. Whatever.

If I were a professional footballer and wasn't beeing trusted by my manager I'd jump of the chance to play for someone who rated me like the Danish coach does with Agger. He didn't go there to get himself injured but to get a game in his preferred position.

It aint just the current manager that has left him on the bench

He's better than skrtel but i'd rather have consistency in my defence and not chopping and changing it on a weekly basis because agger keeps getting injured

I don't hate Hodgson. I don't particular frolick seeing players like Poulsen play as crap for us as he's started out mind but I know he can do better so I'm quietly optimistic.

Unless Agger's beeing forced to hang up his boots because of his back-problems I'm positive he'll become a star-player. My only hope is that it's going to happen whilst wearing our famous red.

Roy's started out poorly and his preference of Skrtel ahead of Agger just underlines this. He needs to shape up and do so quickly.

I'm not comparing the two mate I'm merely asking for a bit of perspective.

People have just got tired of his being injured all the time. There's no point banging on about what a great player he is, if we don't get to see him strut his stuff week in week out.

87 league games in 5 seasons.

115 appearances in all competitions during that time.

So er, 23 games a season on average. I hope when we get shut of our other centrebacks for him, we have another to cover the two-thirds of a season he's going to miss next.

That's some scary shite right there.....

KHL, it's a bit like the Torres situation.

I'm going to give you a hugely talented player. The caveat is, you can only have him for a third of a season only, when he may or may not be on form.

Keep or sell? There're some here inching towards selling Torres, and I think Agger is pretty much in the same boat.

KHL, I wouldn't worry that roy doesn't like agger. seriously, who gives a fuck what roy thinks? hopefully roy will be given at most a couple of games and sent on his way before nov 1st so he only gets one years wages.
