This is about Firmino.

I have not seen him take a single clean shot, struck with any amount of power or with conviction. If anybody else has seen him do this for Liverpool, please post a clip.

He does not take defenders on, in spite of having the required skills on.

Basically he plays like a frightened little school boy....how long will it take for him to settle in and be a little easy on the pitch?

Or will it not happen at all for him in this league? I'm starting to have my doubts about this...i'm afraid.

He had a great shot a while back from 30 yards out at Anfield and he cracked the post. I agree with the rest of the post though.

This is way previous. He did have one or two decent showings early on, and Klopp hasn't had much time to work on him up till now. There may come a point when we have to say enough's enough, but this ain't it yet.

A few people have pointed out recently that the 2014 transfer window doesn't look as bad anymore, with the upturn from Lovren and Moreno, the improved play from Lallana, the strength of Can. We are so quick to dismiss people. Origi no longer looks like the player who was written off by so many. Firmino is a class player - I expect him to succeed.

He looks very very tentative in his play. Quite disappointing really considering he came with the reputation of being a very busy player.

I'm still hoping it's the physicality of the PL he's still getting used. He's obviously talented, but hopefully he doesn't go the Aquilani way.

I do agree that he is a very good player but he hasn't shown nearly enough of it.
He wouldn't be the first decent player to fail to adapt to the Premiership and worryingly he has come across as a bit chicken and a shithouse.
I have been hugely disappointed so far as I expected great things from him but it is well to early to give up on him yet.

He's one for next season, he'll have the occasional flash, but in the whole this season will be a write off for him. I'm fine with that, as long as he does come on next season.

His displays in the Bundesliga were very different - he wasn't at all scared of a tackle in that league. Maybe he's had trouble settling here. Whatever the reason, we have to give Klopp time to work on him properly.

This thread should have been started after the Newcastle game.
Today I dont agree, he had a good game and contributed to the win.
As long as there is a positive development he'll come good during the season.

The only thing we're afraid off is giving new players time to settle and adapt.

He is not afraid of a tackle, in fact he made 3/4 successful tackles today according to Squawka. Also 3/4 successful take-ons and 3 chances created, including the assist. Not too bad.

I agree with the original post's point about not hitting clean shots, I think it's about adjusting to a slightly higher pace of the game in England compared to Germany, where he scored many spectacular goals and had no problems with his shooting. Don't worry about this; I'm sure he'll adjust and will start hitting the ball cleanly again.

Also while 72% passing percentage is not great, believe it or not it was actually the highest among our front 6 in this game (not counting Origi who just made 5 or 6 passes).

I thought our passing was atrocious overall today. Several good moves broke down with passes that were either well behind the intended target or seemed to be aimed at no one in particular.

Despite the great effort today we were a little fortunate to score when we did. With the ball we were just a little out of sync.

I hope he's not another gigantic, big money flop. We've wasted so much money in recent years on players like Lallana, Balotelli, Markovic etc.

So far, I've not been impressed at all; he has no real pace and doesn't score. We already have a player like that in Lallana. Neither should be in our first team.

I've seen enough players who are creative lightweight types come in from abroad & look completely awful only to then suddenly look like stars in their second season to hold off giving an opinion on him long term until around this point next year.

Arsenal seem to have had many of those players over the years for some reason.

Christ, but we sold Sterling g and replaced him with Firmino. It's heart-breaking and we haven't replaced his pace and goals, and we need to.

I have zero faith in Firmino
