Seems like Barnsley fans love him. He's a regular starter now and has already scored two goals in 3 league games.

Barnsley? That League 1 side?

Ah fair enough.

We sell these players and time and again they seem to do better elsewhere.

Would be nice if we inserted buy back clauses in them for once.

Yeah, followed his progress too, he always looked very good, and in preseason last year performed better than any of the other reserves before he was shown the exit.

It was mentioned in the BBC gossip section that Blackpool tried to get him. I think it's a shame he never got a chance as he looked capable of playing in the Premiership.

We should really think about resigning this lad.
He's bigger and stronger than he was when he left.
And we could sure use some more scousers, now that Gerrard and Carra have reached their 30s.

I hear John Welsh and Darren Potter are world beaters now too..

Welsh & Potter are both plying their trade in the 1st division with Tranmere & Wednesday respectively and they have found their level. Hammill has never looked good enough for top 4 team and even though he might end up back in the EPL one day he is probably in the right division now.

Jack Hobbs is still doing well at Leicester and he's the one I think might one day have a decent Premier League career.

Robbie Threlfall seems to be struggling at Bradford City which surprises me as I thought he'd play at least a dvision or two higher.

I thought Paul Anderson would be ace. Regular for Notts Forest now, fully #7'd up, but not good enough for here. Shame.

Warnock is easily the best of our youth team 'rejects'. Though Hobbs is supposed to be doing superbly for Leicester.

On another note, whatever happened to Ritchie Partridge?

That video is pretty decent, is it not? The curling 30 yarders are executed in the same way regardless of the level of opponents. I'm impressed....

I seem to remember GKMacca mentioning concerns about his refueling habits however I was bitterly disappointed when we sold him, particularly for so little.

Poor Ritchie. He's struggled at every club he has been with and is currently struggling to get into a very poor Stockport County team in the 2nd division. He's not a very good player.

In fairness Hammill and Anderson were very impressive and when they did play in big reserve games or friendly's they looked alright..

Considering RAFA wouldnt even let Babel get a look in there is no wonder they were moved on.

I wonder if his wife's brother will help them out with a few bob.

Partridge has a physiotherapy degree according to wiki, so maybe Owen will give him a job since he's always injured.

Barnsley manager Mark Robins hailed Adam Hammill as the midfielder's solitary goal guided his team to a 1-0 victory against Portsmouth.

Hammill - who has been linked with a move to the Premier League - was at the heart of every Tykes move and the former Liverpool man netted the winner in the 13th minute.

The 22-year-old took his goal with aplomb and the playmaker was only denied more by a superb individual display from Pompey keeper Jamie Ashdown.

Robins was quick to praise Hammill as his team recorded a third consecutive win.

He said: "I thought Adam Hammill's goal was a great goal.

"He started the move off, got the ball played back to him and he tied himself up and smashed it in.

"He had a couple of other efforts. He's a talent and at the moment he's on fire.

"He's adding things to his game all the time - hopefully he will stay with us until he's ready to go somewhere else.
"

That's 7 goals and 4 assists in 18 appearances this season.

I was well pissed when we sold him. Given our lack of options on the left, I would think he would have had more than a fair shot at the first team now.

according to people on other sites we've got an option to re-sign for £500k. if that's true we'd be mad not to - surely given the current state of our wingers we could at least use him from the bench, it's a no-risk signing because his true value must be at least double the £500k.

At that figure, he'll be a steal. Not sure if that option is valid/still available though. Haven't read about it before.

Barnsley ace Adam Hammill insists he is in no rush to make the move to the Premier League.

The in-form winger is being chased by a host of Premier League clubs after catching the eye at Oakwell this season.

The former Liverpool youngster impressed his suitors with the winning goal against Portsmouth on Saturday and Barnsley are bracing themselves for bids for Hammill in the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old admits it is his ambition to play in the Premier League, but he is happy to bide his time as he continues to learn his trade.

"I just take each game as it comes," said Hammill.

"I'm enjoying my football and looking forward to the next match. The main aim is to play well and score goals.

"To play in the Premier League is an ambition I've always had.

"For every young lad to reach the highest level is the ambition.

"But there's no rushing - it has to be the right time. I'm learning my trade at Barnsley. Whatever happens, I'm enjoying myself here."

Barnsley boss Mark Robins hopes to retain star midfielder Adam Hammill for the time being at least.

The 22-year-old has been in sparkling form for the Tykes this season, hitting a number of spectacular long-range goals while cutting in from his wing position.

Hammill's performances have not gone unnoticed by Premier League teams and Everton are supposedly lining up a £2million bid which would represent good business for the South Yorkshire club, who bought him from Liverpool for an undisclosed six-figure fee in the summer of 2009.

However Robins is hoping Hammill remains at Oakwell for at least the short-term.

He said: "Hopefully, he will stay with us until he is ready to go somewhere worthy of his talent."
