It's May again CL final 2019. This time we play Juventus.

20 mins in, still 0-0 when Chiellini steps on Salah's knee and injures him. Chiellini gets a booking, but Salah can't continue.

We obviously have to sub him, so who do we bring on?

My point is, do we have enough impact players this time around?

Yeah we do - Shaqiri - and I guarantee you if we had him - Ramos would regret injuring Salah, coz Shaqiri can give as good as he gets from any defender.

We are Keita and Shaqiri up on this scenario last year, plus technically Sturridge. Also it's pretty clear we'll sign Fekir or Pulisic in the winter.

Just for shit's n giggles, who's next in line?
Change the system init

Keita play as number 10 with fabinho and hendo behind

Shaqiri bobby and mane up top

Thing is, with the players we've got, we can pick a supposed strongest xi, but all the players in the attacking 5 can change position easily.

What was the starting line up? Maybe Sturridge is fit this time, Lallana hasn't come back from a 6 month lay off, Solanke or Origi have had playing time over the season and are capable of making an impact. Shakiri may not have started and was on the bench.

...am not denying Salah isn't really special ...but 3 liverpool players scored 20 or more goals last season, the real problem with the CL final was we had only 3 lads in the engine room fit enough to take the park that night. Can and Lallana had played little or no footbal for the best part of 3 months and the Ox was crocked. You cannot play the same 3 lads for 90 mins under Klopps system. And you are ultimately forgetting that in next years CL final that Karius will not be our 1st chloice keeper.

We are a few days away from our first game of the season, and we worry about who to bring on as a sub in the last game?

We don't know is the correct answer. We don't know who has been in form and who has struggled with injuries. We don't know which of the youngsters has taken a step forward and we don't know who impressed most in getting us to a CL final. We have enough players if we reach the CL final but who will start and who will be the impact sub is a little bit early to say.

Rhian Brewster to bag his 13th and 14th of the reason who will slap all the UEFA officials with his winners medal as a protest to their handling of his complaint.

Or, when we lose Salah, will the rest of players actually step up? That would do for a start instead largely going AWOL as they did in Kiev.
