It's not beyond the realms of plausibility. At the time, the bastard had seemingly done irreparable damage to the club, leaving us in a gutter, forever, which justified all the hatred and then some. But we've recovered from those days quite well, and are sitting pretty right now. Also Woy went on to defile England much to our great satisfaction. All things considered, it's certainly reasonable to now look back upon him and laugh with a smile rather than an involuntary twitch.
