hahahaha better than Wijnaldum?!

also £100 mill???? LOL

No club in the world would pay that for Grealish..well maybe Everton.

Better than Gini?
Not comparable at all. Gray talking pure shabite.

Yeah I know, if we are to compare him - it has to be with Coutinho. Grealish is a good player thought, every-time I have watched him - he stands out more than any of his team mates. I think we need to judge him more when he hopefully plays against us this season. If he causes problems to one of the meanest defenses in the world then just maybe we should consider him as a future option.

Undoubtedly a decent player but he is to me what Lallana was to Southampton. He looks great in a smaller team but will probably blend into being somewhat ordinary like in a really good team. At the moment we have so many midfielders there's no point going for Grealish, I almost feel Curtis Jones is probably on that Grealish trajectory anyways so why spend 10s of millions of him when we could just develop one of our own. Grealish is for the likes of Spurs and United who need an instant fix.

I think he is far more than Lallana was to Southampton, I don't think he will fail if he goes to a bigger club, from the times I have seen him, he has that Gerrard attitude of trying to drive his team forward regardless of the situation, and is quite tough in comparison to Lallana when he has the ball at his feet, plus I am pretty sure he is faster than both Lallana and Madisson at Leicester. If his injury record is good, and if Villa go down then I think if we can get him for 40M - it will be well worth it.

Nothing like him imo

What a random comparison.

Yeah. Not only the 2 players in question quite different, but they happen to play for managers with diametrically opposed philosophies - 30% possession Newcastle vs gung-ho high-pressing Norwich. This alone would make any statistical comparison pretty much meaningless.

They're compared cos Norwich play Newcastle this Sat. 😛 Shared more for Cantwell's figures than for comparison purposes.

Buying Grealish would be essentially the death knell for Curtis Jones though wouldn't it? But... I do remember young Grealish and I never thought he would end up the player he is at the moment, so maybe if we dont get Grealish I have good confidence that Curtis Jones given time (maybe on loan too) could eventually step up. However, if Lallana leaves then yeah then yes Grealish makes sense though.

St Maximum of Newcastle looks a very good player, shades of Mane about him, quick feet, pace and strength, the Traore Alternative?

Hes going to be a very good player for whoever gets him but at £80m you really have to question whether there are better options out there. Hes the right age profile for us and we could afford him but I do t think we are interested.

What I like about Grealish is that you can see him thinking on the pitch. As soon as he receives the ball (or sometimes even before), he assesses his options and draws up a picture in his head whether he wants to take a defender on, hold the ball up to bring in a teammate, win a foul, etc. For so many players, their feet are quicker than their head, Grealish is the opposite – meaning he has quick feet, but he's making decisions with his head first and then his feet find a way to realize his vision. I think he's the best English left winger for quite some time.

Arsenal's Saka looks a good player as well.

As for grealish he would be the perfect Pogba replacement player and I could see him being good for us too but I feel we are well stocked in midfield.

Could replace both Ox and Lallana as midfielders, while still giving Jones opportunities to cover injuries both in midfield and front 3 (left, where Ox played yesterday).

He's not really a left winger, he has played more centrally and moves all the way across the pitch, plus he's right-footed.

He's an attacking midfielder, and could play in a few positions.

Yeah, he can play all across the midfield, but this season he started 17 games from the LW position, according to transfermarkt, and that's when the vast majority of his goals and assists have come from too. Given that LW has been a problem position for England for years, I would think he is the ready-made solution.
