Our media income last year was £241m. Vast majority of that will be TV money from PL and CL.
There'll be other bits in there too (website / LFC TV income) but the lion's share will be TV.
I expect this year's to be lower - the drop off from CL to Europa will be huge, far outweighing any extra from the PL for merit based payments. Revenue from cups, particularly League Cup, will be negligible in the grand scheme.
Essentially, prize money IS media income. The competitions collect central money and distribute it to clubs. That money is basically TV revenue, and possibly a bit of sponsorship. Clubs will generally record it under media. Some disclose UEFA and Premier League separately, we don’t.
But what I said above is that there’ll be some other bits and bobs in that £241m so it’s not a direct comparison with the £190m (which is not a club-sourced figure, remember, so it may not be that accurate, but it’s probably not far off).
But we will be earning less this year than last as the PL deal is broadly the same as last year, with a little more merit income for finishing higher up the table, but a big drop-off between CL and Europa. As a guide, the total pot for the CL is €2.032bn. The pot for Europa is €465m (less than a quarter of CL).
