We should really be scouting Will Buckley.
This lad is good enough to play in the premiership, only 21-22 years old. I first saw him when he played against us in the League cup.

Here he is against Newcastle:

Saw John Guidetti's name while looking up on David Texeira. This 19 yr old lad on loan at Feyenoord from Man City has scored 13 in 13 appearances. Doubt he will make it to City's 1st team with all their spendings though. Could be one to watch.

There's a lot of talk about Guidetti in the Swedish press.
For some reason he's not good enough to play for the U21s or the nationalteam.
A little surprised Will Buckley is 'only' 22 yrs old. Remember him as a Watford player and was surprised he left so quickly after less than 1.5 season. What role does he feature in for Brighton?

Perhaps after this successful loan, Guidetti will catch the eyes of the national team coaching staffs? His next move will be an important one.

Looks like Ajax might miss out of Champions League next season. Serious dip in form recently. The lad is only 19 and after today's match is joint 2nd with Luke de Jong in the top scorer chart.

TEENAGE Wrexham goalkeeper Danny Ward is set to join Liverpool for an initial fee believed to be in the region of £100,000.

The Wales under-19 international, a product of the Dragons’ Centre of Excellence, yesterday underwent a medical at Liverpool’s Melwood training complex and excitedly used the social networking site Twitter to confirm he had come through it with flying colours.

Although there was no official confirmation of the move from either club last night, it’s likely that in addition to the initial fee Wrexham will be in line for further payments if 18-year-old Ward fulfils his potential and goes on to play first-team football for either Liverpool or Wales, and there will also be a sell-on clause should the youngster move elsewhere to further his career.

Ward, who joined his hometown club as a 14-year-old, is in his final year at the Centre of Excellence and, although he has not had a first-team outing for the Dragons, he made his senior debut in a one-off loan game for their Blue Square Bet Premier League rivals Tamworth last season, winning the man-of-the-match award for his display against Hayes & Yeading.

You do know that Guidetti is on loan from Man C, right?
The national team coach is keeping an eye on him but we've been burned before by players who scored a lot of goals in the Dutch league. I do wonder how many of his 13 goals were penalties, because he didn't do to well in Sweden and in Burnley.

Yeah Will Buckley is still quite young and he can play on the left/right wing and in the middle. Tall player, quick and technical.
I think he'd excel in a premier league team.

Kenneth Zohore, big, powerful young striker I've mentioned a few times on here, has been sold to Fiorentina for a fee in the region of £700.000.

His development has been put somewhat on hold after a storming start to his career playing as a 16-year-old against the likes of FC Barcelona in the Champions League for FC Copenhagen.

Has just turned 18 yesteday, and with the right guidance he could still end up a very strong, unplayable forward in the Drogba (his Uncle) mould. Roppy will keep us posted with his developments going forward I take it.

Anyone following the Championship lately? Blackpool's Matt Phillips seem to be doing pretty well. Scored nine goals in his last nine games,

15-year-old defender Andreas Christensen is moving to Chelsea come Summer from Brøndby for a compensation in the region of £600.000.

We were showing our interest as well in the highly rated Youth International, but he eventually chose the Chavs as they offered him and I quote 'the best setup for his future career'.

Arsenal wanted him too as well as Ajax.

Eccleston has just got 2 for the reserves, winng 2-0 just gone half time, hope we see him moved up before the years out ....

He looked an excellent prospect at Wycombe and I was surprised at the start of this season that Holloway didn't give him a chance in the first team. He went on loan to Sheffield United and totally transformed them from a dour rugged team into an attacking creative one (along with their other loanee at the time Billy Clarke, also from Blackpool). He made such an impact that, when he went back to Blackpool after his loan, Holloway put him in the 1st team and he's carried on his great form. He's definitely worth keeping an eye on as he has bags of potential.

Not sure where to put this as he's certainly not one to watch in 2012 already but here goes:

Pierre Emile Højberg, 16-year-old Danish midfielder has moved from Brøndby to Bayern Münich on a 3-year-contract.

The Danish U16 Talent of the year in Denmark was the only from the year of 94' to represent Denmark's U17 team in the WC in Mexico and is beeing described as a controling midfielder with the ability to dictate the game and score from distance. A no. 8-type if you like.

I have seen him play a handful of times at U17-level and although he hasn't stood out from the very talented lot lead by Viktor Fischer (AJAX), Christan Nørgaard (AC Milan), Zohore (Fiorentina), Durmisi (Brøndby), Patrick Olsen (Brøndby), Lasse Vigen (FC Fulham) and Lucas Andersen (AaB) he never looked out of his depths which indicates if nothing else that he's developing quickly.

Brøndby has already 'lost' cultured defender Andreas Christensen (15-year-old) to Chelsea this window and will soon struggle to keep hold of Olsen and Durmisi, is my guess.

Liverpool = Danish national team

If KHL get's his way.

Well both teams are playing in red shirts you know.

Wouldn't these kids be better served progressing through the ranks and gaining experience in the Danish league before moving on - like Agger? One would understand if they're 18 or 19. But at 15 or 16? ???

Normally I'd agree but when clubs of Bayerns, AC Milans and the Chavs stature comes along most would jump at the opportunity to be tested at highest level from an early age.

It is a very talented crop of youngsters as well so I do believe most of them will benefit from it. Fischer at Ajax beeing the most obvious pick. Nørgaard at AC Milan another.

I see where you are coming from mate. Hope you're right. One of my concern is (with the exception of Chelsea perhaps), most of the bigger clubs have been pretty good bringing through their own academy lads. Are these lads that special/different to make the breakthrough? Agree its worth the gamble though. Will be interesting and exciting times for Denmark and Danish football if they indeed fulfill their potential and live up to the hype.

I really do admire Danish footballers. Our football philosophy in Sweden that is so different compared to yours and I mean that in a negative way. I wish we'd follow your rout. We only seem to develop decent defenders and defensive midfielders.

First time coming across this name: Panagiotis Vlachodimos. Will be interesting to see how long before a bigger club gets linked with signing him.

Skoda Xanthi are not renowned for their big name players or first class scouting system. George Boateng and Tomasz Radzinski are probably the most established names to have played for Marinos Ouzounidis’ side in recent years. That could soon change, however.

20-year-old German-born Greek under-21 international Panagiotis Vlachodimos is a product of the prestigious Stuttgart academy, where the likes of Sami Khedira, Serdar Tasci and Mario Gomez all plied their trade as youngsters.

Since being brought to Xanthi last summer on a free transfer, Vlachodimos has lit up the Super League with his quick footwork, terrific pace and clinical finishing– the supporters have even dubbed him ‘The Greek Cristiano Ronaldo’ after his debut in September away to PAOK.

Vlachodimos has made significant inroads at Xanthi so far this season, recently scoring a superb effort – which later turned out to be the winner – against table-toppers Olympiakos. Following that goal and other stand-out performances, it has come to no surprise that several European sides have scouted the hot prospect.

Many skilful or ‘flash’ players lack the intelligence to know exactly what they’re going to do with the ball. Vlachodimos doesn’t. His ingenuity has been a stand-out feature of his play this season, scoring big goals and creating assists for his team-mates.

While Greece lick their lips at another exciting youngster working their way up the ranks, one question will be asked over and over again – does he have the mentality and consistency to succeed?

From what he’s shown so far, Vlachodimos certainly has the quality and it shouldn’t be long before ‘The Greek Cristiano Ronaldo’ is a regular name on the Greek national side’s team sheet. Only time will tell.

Liverpool are reportedly interested in Blackpool winger Matt Phillips and his manager Ian Holloway has admitted he will eventually leave.

Phillips is in the form of his life for the Seasiders and talkSPORT are reporting that Kenny Dalglish is interested in bringing him to Anfield.

Holloway believes the 20-year-old has seen the success of Charlie Adam’s move to the Reds and believes he will soon be a target for a club of Liverpool’s stature.

“Matt Phillips has been absolutely exceptional, he understands what we are trying to do,” Holloway said on talkSPORT radio.

“He saw that Charlie went to one of the biggest clubs in the country and I am sure it will only be a matter of time until Matt joins him because he is 20 and he is English.”

CRAIG LEVEIN has fought off a desperate last-ditch bid from England caretaker boss Stuart Pearce and secured the international “transfer” of Blackpool winger Matt Phillips.

Phillips has opted to play for Scotland boss Levein and will be called up for the friendly clash against Slovenia on February 29.

The Aylesbury-born striker has represented England at Under 19 and Under 20 levels, but has the right to switch to Scotland because his grandfather hails from Ayrshire.

Pearce was desperate to try and prevent Phillips from defecting to the Auld Enemy and held talks with the player and his family last week.

But Phillips had already made up his mind to pledge his international future to Scotland and Pearce’s plea fell on deaf ears.

The former Wycombe Wanderers star has been tipped by Blackpool gaffer Ian Holloway to go on and play for a top side in the Premiership. Holloway reckons Phillips has the potential to be eclipse the achievements of another star pupil – Liverpool’s Charlie Adam.

Phillips decision to opt for Scotland ahead of the land of his birth is a massive coup for Levein who has already had great success in with English-born stars.

Phil Bardsley, Craig Mackail-Smith, Jordan Rhodes, James Morrison and Jamie Mackie are now accepted member of his international squad despite their English roots.

And Phillips is now set to join that group of players once FIFA ratify the paperwork. Now that Pearce has failed in his bid to convince the player to stay with the Three Lions, the FA are expected to rubberstamp the transfer papers this week and allow Phillips to move over to Scotland.

Phillips’ mentor as a kid was former England caretaker boss and long-term England Under 21 coach Peter Taylor who groomed him for stardom at Wycombe.

And Taylor - now boss of Bahrain - is in no doubt that Phillips will be a smash for Scotland admitting : "Matt has the ability to play on the left and take on a full-back down the outside or cut in and have a shot with his right.

"But then if he's getting no joy on that side he can switch to the right and still have the skill and technique to go down the outside - or cut in and have a pop with his left peg.

"Plenty players can switch wings, but they don't all have the ability to go down the line or cut inside from both flanks."

Taylor has no problem with Levein using the eligibility rules to strengthen his own squad adding : "I agree with the principle of Craig looking south for the best talent available. It's right that a player isn't tied to one country after one friendly cap or after youth honours."

The Swedish teenager followed his 12th-minute opener with a penalty just after the half-hour mark then delighted the De Kuip faithful further with his 17th goal in 15 league games."

The lad James McClean seems to have popped onto the scene thanks to MON. 2 goals in 6 appearances (including today's goal + assist) looks like a good return for a 350k signing (by Bruce).
Yeah born and raised in N.Ireland, given his chance by O'Neill a former N.Ireland international, declares himself for the Republic.
Awaiting a call from Trap. Hahahaha.
"Sunderland are ready to tear up the three-year contract James McClean signed last summer and offer the young winger a deal that will see him more triple his basic £4,000-per-week wages.

Black Cats manager Martin O’Neill wants the club to tie down McClean to a new-long term deal at the Stadium of Light and his paymasters are hoping to tempt him to commit his future to Wearside with a deal that will net him at least £15,000 per week."

More on Guidetti here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2012/feb/15/john-guidetti-manchester-city-feyenoord

I'm not sure if we've any "link" with Crewe but we have been linked with a few of their players in recent years and we've been keeping an eye on Powell but then again so have a lot of Premier League teams. I saw him a couple of times recently and he immediately reminded me of a young Gerrard. He's strong, takes command of situations and looks like a very good footballer.

I mentioned him last season (before I'd seen him play) because some older Crewe supporters who had seen the likes of Rob Jones, Danny Murphy, Dean Ashton, David Platt etc all come through the Crewe ranks were suggesting that Powell was the most talented kid they've ever had at Crewe - From what I've seen I concur.

Linked with him today.

3689954.png

NICK Powell is on the radar of Liverpool director of football Damien Comolli ahead of a summer transfer pursuit for the talented teenager.

Commoli, the Anfield club's chief recruiter of talent, travelled to Crawley's Broadfield Stadium on Friday to watch Powell weave some first-half magic in the 1-1 draw.

Liverpool are already understood to have moved ahead of Manchester City in the quest to entice 16-year-old Crewe schoolboy talent Dan Smith from Gresty Road before he is signed up on scholarship forms this summer.

But if the Reds were to firm up their interest in Powell they could face competition from elsewhere in the Premier League, particularly Fulham who are more likely to dangle the carrot of first-team football in front of the 17-year-old.

Crewe are in urgent need of a major cash injection after their latest accounts revealed losses of near to £1m.

Promotion to League One would provide a boost to future income and Steve Davis's players have maintained their advance on a play-off finale next month by extending their unbeaten run to 11 games.

And Northampton's late victory over rivals Oxford on Friday offers the Railwaymen a route into the top seven for the first time should they beat Bristol Rovers at Gresty Road today (3pm) and the Us lose to Torquay.

Not the first time we're being linked with him. It's understandable though cause our central midfield in the reserves isn't that impressive.
Must be mentioned that Texeira hasn't played yet.

Regarding Powell, he didn't impress me in the U17 world cup. Chalobah and Sterling we're the only players who shined in that tournament.
