Russian commentators are heaping praise on Allen. They are very impressed with his performance today. I just started watching, so don't know if I agree or not.
Don't - He's been rubbish. Getting better this half though.

Is it just me or is the pitch so bad it's must be like playing on massive 3 week old brillo pad?

This is probably one of the worst matches in terms of overall play I've seen in a while.

I was going to ring in sick for this. Thank god I kept that for a hungover monday or something.

The wording underneath our shirt numbers is making me think Suarez is wearing No.2.

It's really bugging me.

For god's sake Brendan, send Raheem off to Kingston or somewhere for a week or so and just let him rest. The kid isn't going to play his way out of this poor form, he's tired.

I'm not looking for an argument with this one, but I don't agree with that in the slightest. He's not been playing 90mins on any sort of regular basis recently, and he does what, 4hrs of training every day? At 18years old?
When I was 18years old I did 3-4hrs every night and did a full days work, so he can man the fuck up.
And even if he played once or twice a week, 90mins, at 18years old he can get to fuck if he's tired.

Being 'tired' is a good old excuse for 'being shit' for periods in a footballers career. I doubt he's physically that tired at all, he could probably go and run a marathon tomorrow if he wanted to, he's as fit as a fiddle.

People are seeing that he's just not very good. He might be in the future, sure, but at the moment, he's not, he's average at best.

I'm thinking of heading in for some extra hours watching this. Definitely not worth missing work.

I know in training the players have exercises involving keeping the ball in tight situations, but it's perverse in a game like this where there's lots of space that we seem disinclined NOT to avoid tight situations. We're not using the open spaces anywhere near as much as we can and should. Switch sides, move the ball around and be more incisive.
