Youth / Reserve Team Thread... 2010 - 2013

Ideally Robinson will go on loan to a premier league side, so he's ready for consistent first team action the season after next. Similar loans for suso, sterling, coady, and maybe teixera

This next stage in their development is crucial for both LFC and them.

I think he's rated pretty highly as a prospect, but there's so far for keepers of his age to go before they're really judged seriously.

Sama is nuts, absolute nuts - that's the third time in three matches against the mancs he's given away a penalty! Jesus fecking Christ! At least this time he was only booked but all the same, bloody hell!

It's a shame isn't it? We looked the better side until the first penalty went in, and since then we've been very sloppy. Where's McLaughlin by the way? Injured or is he rested for the weekend game for the seniors?

It realy makes you wonder about what happens in training. Don't they try to coach theseplayers about tackling? From Lucas in the first team down to Sama in the ressies, they seem to think it's a good idea to run up behind an opponent and push them hard in the back or try to wrap a foot around their shin. You'd think they'd be told in no uncertain terms that's crap defending, but they keep doing it!

Sama did well last season and I was looking forward to him pushing on this season. He's generally still reasonably promising in terms of the potential to play somewhere at senior level, but he's developed this insane mental block against the mancs that leads to horrible moments of Titus Brambell-style madness.

Yes, Coady, quite Gerrard-like at the same age, positive and aggressive but also amazingly rash. At least he's fighting in the middle there, which is what we need.

It's good to see fight but on another day we'd be down to 10 which is not what we need.

Whats your opinion on Morgan?

Our problem right now is we can't seem to get into any rhythm. It's not helped by them swarming our guys with bodies once we get close enough to the 18-yard box, and both our fullbacks being useless when we attack. The break couldn't come any sooner.

HT. Pretty even until Sama's mad foul (soft pen, really, but after giving away two clearer pens in previous matches he shouldn't have even thought of touching the player), then Flanno's personal regression continued to make it 2-0 down and the mancs are easily good enough to sit back and enjoy the score. Ibe is still sharp but he isn't being spotted often enough or quickly enough, Morgan is working hard but is making poor decisions when it matters, Coady is toiling away in midfield but the rest need to show their mettle and fight back.
