Youth / Reserve Team Thread... 2010 - 2013

Very solidly, I think. He's just ready for a chance. He'll start to go backwards if he doesn't get a call up soon.

I hope it happens in the Summer, that he gets promoted. I know we've got Kelly, but we need to put some serious pressure on Johnson. Same on the left too, the pair of them just don't convince me at all.

Interesting with Adorjan, he's spent most of his time playing fairly centrally in the space between midfield and strikers, and had games when he's looked good and others when he's struggled to make any impression at all. Recently, Inglethorpe has moved him out on to both wings, not as a winger as such but really to exploit the space and drift inside back to the centre, and he's looked very good indeed. It won't suit the first team but as an exercise in his development it's a clever move, because he's growing in confidence from match to match at the moment.

Wisdom looks way faster than I thought he was. In the West Brom area, he tried to chest down a really hard and fast cross from Suso, it rebounded back out towards the centre circle but before a West Brom midfielder could control it Wisdom had bombed back out, overtaking three or four players, and tackled him.

Is he at centre back?

Shit, Suso looks like he's jarred a knee, hopefully it's not something worse. Edit - he's back on trying to run it off.

Coady has impressed me loads this year, he's growing into a very decent player.

Yes, he's such a disciplined team player and a responsible captain he sometimes does a job that doesn't help him to shine, but as you say he's got plenty of potential

HT 0-0. Pissing down with rain. Liverpool looking pretty good. Flanno finally back from injury, looking solid. Wisdom in good form. Coady strong in the centre of midfield. Suso lively until he picked up a knock. Teixeira oozes class every single match. Adorjan interesting in his movement. Morgan now clearly confident once again.

Suso cross, Nacho header - LFC 1-West Brom 0. Nice little move, Nacho has been good today as both provider and attacker.

Excellent possession play from the team in the second half - they often do this far better than the first team. Also some good individual flair - Adorjan, for example, collected the ball, spun past two defenders and hit a shot with the outside of his right foot that hit the crossbar with the keeper well beaten.

Team: Gulacsi, Flanagan, Wisdom, Sama, Roddan, Teixeira, Coady, Nacho, Suso, Morgan, Adorjan, Subs: Ward, Baio, Mukendi.

Now that's a name you don't see often. Was wondering what had happened to him after he returned in January from his loan spell at Northampton.

Is Morgan playing in the centre again?

The Catalan press has reported that Sergio Canos’ representatives are already in Liverpool negotiating a summer deal

From the report and the comments, it seems that Robinson has done well on his loan spell at Wolves. They lost again yesterday and are in the relegation zone.

Wolves keen on new deal for Jack Robinson

Wolves want to keep on-loan Liverpool left-back Jack Robinson next season if they stay up.

The tough-tackling England Under-21 international has done well since joining from the Reds and the club want to extend the deal if they win their survival battle in the Championship.

Robinson, 19, has reeled off seven appearances before today’s crunch visit of Huddersfield, keeping out experienced Ireland international Stephen Ward.

Chief executive Jez Moxey said: “Jack has done very well. There isn’t anything yet in place – we’re just going to get to the end of the season.

“But he’s done very well. I think he’s enjoying it here and he’s a player we would be interested in next season.”

Robinson was one of three players Wolves have brought in since January with other loan captures Kaspars Gorkss and Nouha Dicko to counter the five who left.
