Re: Raheeeeeeeeem

How's Adorjan by the way? His name seems to feature prominently in the match reports I've read, I think usually in a creative role but scoring sometimes as well, but he nary gets a mention in articles about the lads who have the potential to make it.

Re: Raheeeeeeeeem

Raheem Sterling has scored 12 in 17 appearances for the U18's & also has 4 assists. He has 9 in his last 4 games. Raheem Sterling has scored in each of his last four games

LIVERPOOL Academy team-mates Conor Coady and Raheem Sterling were both ‘selected’ for the line-up at the town’s big cultural showcase.

But while England under 19 star Conor was dishing out the trophies, Raheem stepped up to take home a prize

The Reds pair were joined by inspirational figures from the worlds of sport, stage and screen to salute the town’s talent at this year’s St Helens Cultural Awards ... ...

I have only seen him play once, but he looked a bit industrial.

Five of the seven assists have been in the last 4 games.

Thanks. The goal-scoring stats are on the weak side for a striker (some reports list him as a midfielder though?) but the assists make up for the lack of scoring, even if they'd gotten a boost from the last 3 or 4 games. Someone still had to lay on the balls for the scorers to do their job. Hopefully he'll have better luck than his compatriot Nemeth in his career here.

Five-star Reds rout Rovers
5th Mar 2011 - Latest News

Liverpool U18s produced an outstanding second-half performance as they overwhelmed Blackburn Rovers by a 5-1 scoreline on Saturday afternoon.
Most Recent News

The Reds went into the match on the back of an eight match winning run but were stunned on 35 minutes when the visitors opened the scoring with a well-worked set piece.

The hosts responded in the right manner and pulled level just before the interval when Adam Morgan drilled a low shot into the bottom corner.

It had proved to be a difficult first 45 for the home side but whatever Rodolfo Borrell said during the half-time team talk seemed to work wonders as they powered into an unassailable lead following the restart courtesy of Raheem Sterling and another clinical strike from the in-form Morgan.

Conor Coady then crashed home the fourth from the penalty spot before Krisztian Adorjan sealed the victory with a classy finish as the Reds warmed up for next Sunday's FA Youth Cup clash with Manchester United in style.

Re: Raheeeeeeeeem

Best Academy team we've ever had.

Borell seems to be rotating the squad quite frequently. No Wisdom, Flanagan, Robinson, Ngoo, Banton and Suso (played with the reserves midweek).

Team: Belford, Poor, Smith, Sama, Regan, Roddan, Coady, Sterling, Adorjan, Mukendi, Morgan (Walsh).

Compare it to the FA youth cup team, where the best players are selected:

Belford, Flanagan, Robinson, Sama, McGiveron, Coady, Sterling, Roddan, Morgan (Sumner 46), Adorjan (Silva 46), Suso (Banton 64). Subs: Stephens, Regan.

Ngoo and Wisdom were injured.

Re: Raheeeeeeeeem

Morgan scored 2 more - new Robbie Fowler or just the recipient of great service from several talented players?

He does score a lot of goals but it's too early to compare him with Fowler.
He's more of Mellor right now.

He doesn't seem to have much pace, Mellor seems like a good comparison.

Fowler was a genius. He had great ball control and his precision and finishing was out of this world.
Provide him with a decent ball in the box and it's a guaranteed goal.
I don't see that in Morgan I'm sorry too say. He's physically built like a young Fowler but he's missing the "it" factor which is quite visible in players like Sterling, Suso and to a lesser extent Coady.

On a different note, I watched an FA youth cup highlight reel of Chelsea U18 vs Watford U18.
Chelsea's striker Milan Lalkovic looks like a great prospect, despite missing plenty of clear cut chances.
Have a look at McEhran while you're at it. Chelsea's answer to Arsenal's Wilshare.
