Peterson has gone to tranmere on loan too I think

[article=http://www.tranmererovers.co.uk/news/article/peterson-281113-1203150.aspx#b0ZqErSFOTfZmBOi.99]Liverpool winger Kristoffer Peterson has joined Tranmere Rovers on a one month youth loan deal subject to Football League and Premier League clearance.

The 19-year old joined Liverpool’s Academy from Swedish side, A Savedalens IF in January 2011.

He has since gone on to play regularly for their Under-18 and Under-21 sides and scored in a friendly against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday afternoon.

Kristoffer has been given permission to play in Tranmere’s FA Cup second round tie against Peterborough United. His loan deal ends on January 1 2014.

Manager Ronnie Moore said: “Kristoffer is a player I’ve had my eye on for a while.

“He’s a fast, tricky winger who creates chances for others and has a good scoring record too.

“I’d like to thank Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers for allowing Kristoffer to join us.”[/article]

[article=http://www.ytfc.net/news/article/20131128-morgansigns-1203021.aspx#1e77RfvSFPYOTPjV.99]Yeovil Town have added to their ranks with the signing of striker Adam Morgan.

Highly rated Morgan joins Town on an initial one-month loan deal from Premier League side Liverpool but will become a Yeovil Town player permanently in January.

Recently Adam hit the headlines when his goal against Manchester City from 45-yards became a hit on YouTube.

Gary said: “Adam has been generating a lot of interest recently, he had a lot of options but he has chosen to come to us.

“We are taking him on a deal until January and then he will join us on a permanent contract after that.

“Adam is a great prospect, I personally feel he is ready to play Championship football now.

“I remember Robbie Fowler saying that Adam is one of the best finishers he has seen in a long time. That is big praise.”

"We spoke to Liverpool and the boy and we will take him until January and then for two-and-a-half years.

"He's going to be a great prospect and I think he's ready to play Championship football. He's been a great goal scorer for Liverpool through the age groups and you will see he's got a bit of cleverness and quality.

This is a good time for youth players to go on loan as in the lower leagues there are loads of games so they should get lots of opportunities should those teams need to rotate (and if it doesn't snow meaning all games get postponed!)

Aston Villa tonight: Ward, Randall, Smith, Sama, Jones, Rossiter, Ngoo, Lussey, Yesil, Brannagan, Teixeira.
Subs v Aston Villa: Mersin, Baio, Maguire, Dunn.

McLaughlin injured again.

But he's not prone to injury, that's obviously something I made up to wind everyone up.
Apparently some 23 year old clattered him again.

Ya its a shame he has had alot of injuries since the turn of the year. This is supposed to be a bad hamstring injury also.
Who injured him do? Aged 23, Martin Kelly?

Hehe, no it's a reference to something else in this thread. I think it's a regular injury, he's out again, that's all I know.

[article=http://www.clickliverpool.com/sport/liverpool-fc-news/1220386-exclusive-brendan-rodgers-can-build-liverpool-fcs-youth-legacy.html]David Thompson has urged Liverpool to allow Brendan Rodgers to revive the fortunes of the club's youth setup.

Thompson rose through the ranks at Liverpool, winning the FA Youth Cup in 1996, and was one of several players from their last golden generation of youngsters, which included Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher, to become a regular figure in and around the first-team.

And the former midfielder believes that, given time, Rodgers' passion for the club and player development can spawn a new era of promising starlets at the club's operations base in Kirkby.

He said: "Liverpool, every time they go through these transitional managers - they had a French manager, then they had a Spanish manager and then they went back to an English manager - their [different] philosophies have been impacted onto the Academy as well.

"I just think there needs to be this continuity and I can't stress that enough. You've got to be given the time to build an infrastructure - it doesn't happen overnight.

"I feel that Brendan Rodgers is the right man. He plays the right style of football, he encourages players to go out and be the best that they can be.

"But he's got to be given the time. I'm not talking about three or four years. I'm talking about five, six, seven, eight years to give the guy a chance to build a legacy.

"It took a long time for Alex Ferguson to establish what he did (at Manchester United), but it was an obsession that drove him on. I feel that Brendan Rodgers has got the same thing."

"They talk about the quality of coaching maybe not being the same but I was in the Academy the other day and I was looking at (under-21 coach) Alex Inglethorpe. He was doing a great session with the lads, it was very technical," he added.

"If that's the standard of coaching now, then Liverpool are good for the next few years. If they've got the talent on the books, then it's definitely going to get produced."

Liverpool have already enlisted the services of Robbie Fowler, Steve McManaman and Rob Jones, three of Thompson's former teammates, as part-time coaches at the Academy - something the 36-year-old insists will only help the careers of the club's current prospects.

"These lads can only be inspired by players like Robbie Fowler and Steve McManaman. These are people who've played on the world stage," he said.

"Even Rob Jones is an England international. If Rob had been given the chance to fulfill his career I'm sure he'd have gone on to be a great full-back for years to come with a great legacy.

"They can bring so much experience and inspiration to the lads - to tell them what it's like to be an international player, to tell them what it means, what it takes.

"These lads have been there and done it. They've made their mistakes. You can only learn from players like that. They should probably be looking to get more ex-players down there, talking to these lads, giving them seminars."[/article]

I wonder what the plan is for Teixeira. He's a bit like what Suso was before Rodgers arrived - excellent at U-21 level, but never really tested at the senior level. Except that Teixeira is now 20 while Suso was 18 when he was waiting to get a crack at the first team.

It seems strange that he hasn't been farmed out again after the loan spell to Brentford was cancelled. I'm not even sure if he gets called up to train with the first team.

Didnd't we pay something like 1M for him as well?

It wouldn't be an issue in somewhere like Spain because he'd be playing league football but playing reserve football in this country at 20 is not generally a good sign.

Close; something like 830K according to Wiki. I know he's had injuries that I think took a year off his development, but since his return last year, he's shown good form. He appears to be physically stronger / tougher than Suso, with the creativity and passing ability to match the Spaniard. When Suso went out on loan, I was hoping Teixeira would get bumped up to fill the role of the young AM on the bench. Then we got Alberto, and kept Teixiera stuck here playing at a level that does nothing for his development or value.

Inglethorpe mentioned in Mar this year that Brad Smith was on the verge of a 1st team call up prior to his injury. Any chance of that happening this season? Ngoo's contract should be expiring this season too if I remember correctly?

Cheers for that; Smith seems to have been on fire since his return from the leg injury. Hopefully he (and Inglethorpe) can convince Rodgers to give him a shot with the seniors once he's back to full fitness. Flanagan has filled in decently defensively, but Smith can offer more on both ends of the field.

Getting the more experienced players like Cissokho and Moses to come in was a right move in theory but ones that haven't worked well because of the lack of quality (and workrate in Moses' case) of the duo. Hopefully, we'll give our youngsters from the U-21s more of a chance from hereon

At least Rodgers, by sidelining Cissokho and giving Flanagan minutes instead, has proved that he's willing to recognize and correct a mistake. Hopefully, the likes of Teixeira, Smith or Ibe will get the nod over Moses to get onto the bench next.

Modo (and his Peter Lorre-style sidekick) seemed to lose interest after coming on to slag off a player for being injured (and ergo being the next Darren Anderton). It's almost as if he wasn't interested in the match.

So who should, and who will, make the step up from ressies/youth teams to be a regular in the first team squad either within the rest of this season or by the start of next, Macca?

Presuming Suso has been sent on loan with a view to being ready for the first team next season, where would him and Teixeira fit into the side? I know Suso has been quoted as saying he wants to play off the striker but I like the idea of him playing deeper, with Teixeira in the number 10 sort of role.

It could work. I fear though that both of them would just be sent on to 'do a job' out of position. I suspect Teixeira is slightly better equipped to still shine in that kind of ad hoc role.

No I came on to slag you off for being a prick.
