[article=http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Liverpool-Martin-Kelly-set-return-to-centre-back-to-solve-right-back-selection-dilemma-article833647.html]Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is planning a position change for Martin Kelly to help solve his selection dilemma at right-back.

With fellow youngster John Flanagan also competing with Glen Johnson at full-back, Dalglish claims Kelly may have to revert to playing centre-half, where he plays for England Under-21s, to get more games at club level.

“It’s brilliant for us,” said the Scot. “Kells played at centre-back for the Under-21s and that’s where he started here. That’s what he set out to be and maybe that’s where he will go back to.[/article]

Quite. I don't see why I'm suddenly supposed to be the only one who thinks he's going to settle at CB. He's always been versatile; when he was on loan at Huddersfield he was played at RB, LB and CB on occasion, and Terry McDermott raved about him both as a person and a player, and predicted he'd play CB for England as well as LFC.

Games played at CB by Kelly under Dalglish - 0.

As enticing as the prospect of a long debate with you is concerning your refusal to tolerate anyone suggesting Kelly ever has played or ever will play at CB, the cat needs a walk, so, alas, I'm oot.

I was following his career when he played at Huddersfield and he never once played at CB, just right back and left back, it was a very short loan spell he probably played only about 5 games. The raving about him as a person and a player was from then reserve manager Albett and I cant find any quote from McDermott predicting he would play as a CB for Liverpool and England? Whether he did say that or not what difference does it make that was just his opinion. The evidence says he has never played at CB in a competitive club game for England or Liverpool and doesn't look like he will be playing there anytime soon for us.

I never said you were the only one who thinks he is going to settle at CB. Alot of people say they see Kelly as being a future CB without ever actually having seen him play a competitive game there, but you seem to have a good knowledge of youth football so I thought you might be able to provide some insight into what he would offer at CB, and if you think he can be good enough to play here or will it be at another club?

McDermott did rave about him then and he still does.

Delighted for Martin Kelly, we had him on loan when I was at Huddersfield he is a diamond of a kid and deserves all that he gets

Try harder to find the other quotes. I'm a bit busy. When you start trying to contradict or disprove every single comment I make, even that one, it strikes me as a bit WUM-like.

I said he never played at center back in a competitive game at CLUB level. Which he hasn't its not a "refusal to tolerate" its a fact dont put words in my mouth. Its the same about him playing there in the future. I just want to know your reasons (not terry mcdermotts or anyone else) for posting saying you were "sure he's destined to be a CB."??

Why should I try harder you are the one that said these quotes exist! Show me them.

I found that tweet alright but it wasn't relevant as it didn't say anything about him being a future england and liverpool centre back and your other comment saying McDermott raved about him "as a person and a player" is a direct quote from Gary Ablett not McDermott. Ablett said: "I think it's a testament to Martin as a person and a player that Terry McDermott has rung me on several occasions to say they underestimated him - they didn't realise how good he was."

I am disproving every comment you are making because i know they are not factually correct. Call that WUM like if you wish but I only deal in facts not hearsay or made quotes. Not trying to start an argument or be a WUM just trying to get your (not terrys) opinion. As I said above you follow youth football so would have seen Kelly play CB underage as opposed to others who have never seen Kelly play center back. I have asked you two times now and you still have not said why you believe Kelly will end up as a center back?

Exasperating. McDermott said exactly what I said, but because you know of another quote from Ablett where he CONFIRMS what McDermott said, rather than the direct quote from McDermott himself, and you can't be arsed to find the original comments (I'm not your damned servant, so don't ask me!), you appear to regard that as proof that I've either lied or dreamt up the exact same point. Which is pretty insulting. And then you have the nerve to claim you aren't acting like a WUM. McDermott's on twitter. I suggest you contact him and ask him what he said. But stop the nonsense about wanting a normal conversation because you quite blatantly don't.

Crump, Waldron, Hart, Cleary, Brewitt, Burke, O Hanlon, Phillips, Trickett Smith, Ojo, Kent.

It will be interesting to see Trickett-Smith - ex-Crewe - now that his new coach is also ex-Crewe and knows him well. Trickett-Smith is quite a promising young player and he's now being played in a more attacking role (it looks like the dreaded 'false number nine') than his previous creative midfielder position. I think he's suited to a deeper role but we'll see.

If only Ojo had better close control because he is so fast and strong. He bombed past two players there (with a Michael Holding-like gracefulness) and then fell down as the next one came in. Then he received the ball on the edge of the area and was too slow trying to drag the ball to his other foot.

Brilliant run by Ryan Kent, practically the length of the field, held off the last defender as well then crossed for Trickett-Smith whose shot was saved. Very confident and exciting-looking player, Ryan Kent.

Sometimes the ball DOES stick like glue to Ojo's foot. Unfortunately they're usually the occasions when he should have passed the ball quickly.

Goal, Ryan Kent, just before half time. Runs into the area and coolly places it in the bottom corner.
