We'll buy 2 wingers in the summer, prob a cheapy (marveaux?) and a pricey one, but we may leave it late and they might not be available for the first game. Marveaux wouldn't start as he's gonna be slowly acclimatised. Taiwo was tied up early and as a full back against wolves he should be ok. Marveaux would be booted everywhere. Same with m'vila. somehow we manage to buy him.

It always amazes me how quickly people are to drop Carragher from the team . Ok I'm sure he's had some bad games the last year or two and maybe a dip in form here and there but nothing that worries me immensely . I'm pretty sure he'll be one of our starting centre backs come the start of next season .

I agree but I believe that Carragher isn't the world class defender he was a few years ago.
A player like Cahill or Hummels, who I watched last week would, improve our team.
But that's just wishful thinking from my part, we'll probably have the same back line next season as we have now and as usual we'll find out that it's not good enough in the middle of the season.

But that's just wishful thinking from my part, we'll probably have the same back line next season as we have now and as usual we'll find out that it's not good enough in the middle of the season.

Carragher doesn't need to be defended on 6CM. It's not one of those sites.
I think he'll start to play less games next season, and although he'll still feature more than Agger, we do need to start looking towards the future.

I don't think we need massive surgery to the starting 11 - just a little more depth plus two key positions.
1) As predicted we haven't managed to replace Sami - we will continue to leak goals and look vulnerable until we have a commanding presence in the air at the back. I'm not sure Cahill quite manages that but Hummels certainly does.
2) We need someone out wide. I think Suarez is best in the hole but he can play out wide and change up with Ming and/or Stevie. We bring in Hazard and we have the potency we've been seeking for years. Anyone who caught the Bayern game this morning (despite the incomprehensible defeat) would have just watched in envy at the way Frank and Robben cut Inter to pieces out wide. We get that quality out there and players like Gerrard and Ming will have more space to utterly dominate in the middle. I've really only gone for Adam cause I think we'll get him anyway.

I'd play Wilson and Kelly together at CB for the last couple of games this season and see what they're like and if it looks good then start them in friendlies at the start of the season. They're both very young but one is already capped by Scotland and Kelly will be called up by England soon enough - if yer good enough yer old enough.
