You've got Clichy twice, and you'd honestly sell Nando?
Yes. I know I'll be the only one, and I love Nando as much as anyone, and of course if we could gaurentee his fitness I wouldn't dream of it, but 80m worth of player in the treatment room may as well be worth fuck all. Trading torres for villa, silva and mata is worth it given the injuries over the last two seasons.
It is with heavy heart though.

Fair enough. I just hope it's down to the 2 years of non stop footy rather than any serious problems, as he never had this many injuries at Atletico. Time will tell.
I voiced the same concerns in summer. We are reliant on HOPING he and Gerrard stay fit. A football team can't succeed like that. His pace and power game is so dependant on him working perfectly, that coupled with the shocking treatment he recieves week in week out spell long term disaster to me. Knee, then groin, then ankle now knee again. Players with persistent injuries don't just stop getting them, and we can't afford to have our best player missing half a season every year. So yeah sad but I'd definately let him go.

Well i'd love to put down the likes of Villa, Aguero and co but we haven't got a hope with Madrid and Man Citys money.

Out - the usual suspects

Which all neatly explains why you were so delighted with Aquilani replacing Alonso this summer, given that he averaged 16 appearances a season for the last three years at Roma.

I know it's a bad state of affairs that we're so reliant on them but that applies to other top teams in the league too. United wouldn't be half the team without Rooney and Giggs (for a spell this season he was excellent). Same goes for Arsenal who aren't the same team without Cesc and RVP etc.

Fair play to you to be able to say you'd sell Torres. My heart would never let me feel it and my head wouldn't want let me think it either. 80million is a fantastic coin for him but would we even see the money be put back into the club?

Remove Rooney from the current United-team and they'll be in a right mess.
True, but taking a 5m punt on a player is not the same as holding onto a player worth 15 times that much. For the record, if someone were to offer 80m for Aquilani I'd take that too.

Ah, the old "£5m downpayment" bollocks.

VIRTUALLY ALL FUCKING TRANSFERS ARE SPREAD OUT ACROSS A PERIOD OF TIME IN THIS WAY.

That is all.

And Aquilani will be sold for a 50% loss within 18 months.

10m for Higuain lollllll
STOP THE LOLING!

First, isn't his contract running down?

And second with the current ammount of firepower in Real and the likes of Ribery perhaps coming in too wouldn't he then be tempted to go elsewhere in search for more minutes?

Having Masher and Maxi convincing him during the WC we should be in the mix.
Christ you're down on a player who's only played a handful of games so far. He may well be sold for a loss, he may turn out to be another shit buy, but he isn't yet. And it doesn't really have a lot to do with Torres injury situation.

He's playing and scoring nearly every week, keeping Benzema on the bench in the process

From Rebel's post about him a while back;

***
According to Sport article Real offered him to us in the Alonso deal and Benitez liked the idea but we needed the cash and there was something about a permit (but he actually has a European passport so i dont know how true this is)

The article says he will be made available in January as Florentino Perez doesn't consider him an important player (despite scoring 22 goals in 34 games last season, 32 in 74 overall) he is behind the Galatico's in the pecking order. His likely destination is still England according to the report and he is valued in the 15 million euro range.

So I guess we will see if Puslow is serious about making money available for Benitez because we could do with another striker.

There will be a surplus of talent in Real come Summer.

If they are to bring in the likes of Ribery and Pato e.g. players like Higuain will be fringe-esque.

Higuain is fantastic and I remember reading that he is preferred by Pelligrini to Benzema who Perez likes (well, he did spend 40M on him). We're not going to get him for 10M. Not now.

That said, I don't think we'd be able to convince Valencia to sell their entire forward line either.

Higuains contract runs out in 2013.

No way would we get one of the hottest striking prospects in the world for 10 mill.

I don't know who sport article are, but they're fucking clowns. Réal turned down a €25 million bid from Juvé in the summer, and now he's on an even bigger flyer this season. I would be gobsmacked if he cost any less than £20 Million, and personally I think his value lies somewhere between £25M and £30M.
