yossi or garcia?

Better player? Must be Yossi.
But Luis was one of the main reasons we won the CL. He left as somewhat of a hero. Yossi isn't really there yet.

I think both players are essential for breaking down stubborn defenses. our win rate at home dropped dramatically when garcia left (we started drawing more games) but that is changing with yossi starting more home games.

between the two players it's tough to choose, luis scored more but gave the ball away more, yossi scores less but uses the ball better (when he can be asked to pass it).

Yossi has a pretty impressive scoring rate for Liverpool, so I wouldn't say he scores less.

Garcia was the more mercurial player, the more likely to stun you with a goal out of nothing. He was a good finisher, at times displaying a strikers instinct inside the box whilst also being capable of sensational strikes from outside the box.

Yossi also offers that extra bit of creativity and is the better of the two with the ball at his feet, but has shown over the time that he's more of a team player. Maybe he's fortunate to be playing in a better side that is much more capable attacking wise, but you could argue that he's helped make that happen.

Anyways, I think Modokay pretty much summed it up.

I said when he arrived that Yossi might not score as many goals as Luis but he'd hold on to the ball better and play more vital passes, and I think he's done that. Luis was very likeable and had a bit of magic about him, but Yossi is more versatile, more consistent and more incisive.

Garcia was an enigma, you couldn't account for some of the things he did, good and bad. Yossi is definitely the more consistent and you pretty much know what you're getting, but one of the beauties of Garcia was his ability to do something from nothing, in big games too.

Exactly. I love Lil Luis, but Yossi does it almost every game. With Garcia, it was one in four if you were lucky.

garcia would win you a game. yossi is an exceptional player but for me still holds on to the ball one touch too many.

lucas is shit

What the fuck has Lucas got to do with the debate? I'm not his greatest fan, I think by and large he's just average but he's hardly been shite so far this season. Give him a break.

Yossi.

Another great game from him.

Taking nothing away from Garcia, there's no way he could've performed consistently as well as Yossi since January last year.

And when you're going for the league it's consistency that counts;

(Ideally we'd still have Garcia on the bench, though. What a plan B he is)

Yossi by a mile. Garcia had his moments of absolute genius as the 2005 CL runs shows but he went through long periods where he didnt do much.

If someone like Silva had produced what Yossi has over the last 12 months everyone would be talking about him. Love LG but Yossi without a shadow of a doubt.

Harder question to answer IMO than a good few posts so far might suggest. Yossi for consistency (after a pretty average start for us), Li'l Luis for the big occasion. If I absolutely had to plump for one or the other it'd be Yossi, but I'd be worried about regretting my choice if we went on another Cup run.

Yossi...and by a long stretch. I doubt there's ever been a more infuriating player than Garcia, who, despite the odd magical moment, wasn't a special enough talent to make up for his deficiencies.

I think Garcia popped up with the most important goals..
[/quote]

Give Yossi time now he's making the team. How about the winner last season against Fulham?

Admittedly Garcia did pop up with some crucial ones but he was playing more than Yossi has.

and at the bernabeu

I cant believe anyone would even have to think about it.
Its like comparing Micheal Owen and Titi fucking Camara.
Garcia had the gift to be able to do some astonishing things, real top drawer stuff. Unfortunately he opened the drawer once every 5 games and spent the rest of the time missplacing 5 yard passes and not tracking back.
Yossi is 50 times the football player Garcia ever was. Which is why Yossi is still playing at the top level and captain of his country and Garcia is heammoraging mid table mediocre spanish teams and watching international games on telly.
