Xherdan Shaqiri

65 games for Bayern over two seasons is more than enough imho. Struggled more under Guardiola.
Very talented and it would be a fantastic signing.

How good is he? should we be reading too much into not being able to break into the Bayen team? afterall it's a pretty impressive squad and most would struggle.

Not really. Guardiola isn't a big fan and his mouthy brother/agent didn't help his standing either.

Hes got Ribery and Robben to compete with, not easy...
Pacy,
tricky winger and can score from 30 yards, im not too sure we need him though. For 10m he would still be a good add to our squad and give sterling some competition

I'd love it if we went for both. Shaqiri operates mostly on the right while Lallana has been played mostly cenral and to the left.
Wont happen though.

Apparently this article in a Swiss newspaper says that we are close to signing Shaqiri for 20M Euros.

I agree. Let's focus on this transfer, whenever wherever it happens.

I'm gonna call a couple of hard, pipe-hitting ethnically diverse individuals to go to work on Buddha here with a pair of pliers and a blow torch....

Basically it says, he does not want one more year like this (meaning at Bayern)...so if we bid for him and distract him, he would ask Bayern to let go him

If Ian Ayre got that instruction he'd undoubtedly look at the Bayern board cunningly, glance at the player, then say " 6 million euro, final offer", before pointing out the window & shouting "LOOK, A SQUIRREL!"
