Xabi is way overrated on this forum

Last season he played well, but how can anyone forget the 2 seasons of *UTTER* dross he put in before that? In fact, it was those 2 seasons that put Xabi in the shop window in the first place!

He's too slow, doesn't score much and doesn't even fit into our new, more dynamic style of play we've adopted since pushing Stevie G further up the field to support Torres.

I would be far more worried if we lost Masher. Xabi doesn't bother me one bit.

To sum up Xabi's career at Anfield:

He had a blinder of a first season, a good (last) season, but overall he's definitely expendable.

Good luck, but he'll be remembered in the Danny Murphy category of players.

How so? Some people on here would welcome Murphy back. I wouldn't.

Were you watching Alonso the season before last? He was dickwad.

However, I would be very confident in our success if the transfer window closed today.

Remove Xabi + Masha and I believe we would be dented (as a team) almost as much as a Scumless Ronaldo + Tevez.

Fickle?

No, just clueless.

I couldn't give a flying fuck if he was 'average' for 2 seasons. He was fucking ace last season and to replace THAT player is going to cost the same if not more than what we'll get for him. And let's face it, on his performance last season, there aren't many available who are fit to clean his boots. Big big loss.

I agree with the majority of that.

He's a good player, but over the last 5yrs he's not exactly been a player we couldn't function without. We'd have been royally bolloxed if we'd lost Gerrard or Torres and to an extent Carra, but not Xabi.

On his day, he's a fucking excellent playmaker. But he doesn't offer much more than that (e.g goals, drive, pace, dribbling, tackling etc), and those 'on his day's have been too far inbetween over the last 5yrs for my liking.

I'll wish him all the best for 25-30mill thank you very much.

Good luck Xabi 😀

Do you remember a few seasons back when Real worked the whole summer to get Danny Murphy. There were 150 pages of posts about it.

spot on.
I just pray our disjointedness preseason is rustiness rather than alonso not being there to pull the strings.

I remember Le Tallec and Cisse looking a real mustard combo in pre-season one year. Doesn't mean diddly-squat. Fortunately.

Xabi makes us pass better as a team. When he's on song we look like a passing team up with anyone. We'll miss him

He's slow, holds the ball up for too long and tries to many hollywood passes....

*Stir it baby....stir it....*

We didn't miss him when we were spanking Utd 1-4 in OT. If SG and Torres stay fit for the majority of this season, we'll not miss him too much. Top quality player, but we'll get on with it.
