WWIII Return of the Ruskie

Not usually.

There's a very remarkable absence of coverage of the UN security council meeting yesterday, where Russia presented evidence of whatever is going on in the biolabs.

Naturally the UK and USA would never lie to anyone about the existence of chemical or nuclear weapons, so having labelled it all as a conspiracy theory / misinformation the news outlets are not reporting on it.
It was reported. They were spouting shit about bats, birds and fleas. Anthrax, Smallpox and even German Measles.

The response was.. all the things Russia is claiming, is actually what Russia does to others.

So are you saying none of those are in the biolabs ?

Maybe it's news only to me, but I didn't realize how deep the rot goes in the UK.

Fucking hell. This guy, son of a Russian oligarch and "former" KGB officer (there is no such thing as being a former KGB), sits in your House of Lords after being pushed through by the Prime Minister over the objections of the MI6? This reminds me of the villain in Johnny English being triumphantly crowned the king of England. I don't think even the Russians can believe how easy this was.

I'm sure it extends past this guy.

Yep, you only need to see how slowly our sanctions have been implemented to figure out how deep the rot goes.

It's strange – UK has been one of the staunchest supporters of Ukraine in terms of military aid and standing up to Putin's narrative. No other Western European country comes close; there is even talk of a UK-Poland-Ukraine trilateral military alliance in the future. But at the same time, your PM is friends with and is likely financed by a literal KGB guy. Not to mention the likes of Farage who are Russia-owned lock, stock and barrel.

This also helps to explain why Putin made this monumental error of judgement – he saw how easy it is to infiltrate and corrupt Westen institutions and thought surely after all this courting no one will seriously confront him over Ukraine. He miscalculated, but you could understand why he thought he'd get away with it.

This Russia stuff has just scratched the surface on influence on MPs and media.

There'll be plenty still from other countries.

China and Israel have already been identified to an extent and I'm sure it runs super deeper than those countries.

The Ukrainians are saying the same. The Russian generals will be desperately looking for anything that looks like a win and a retreat all rolled into one.

Those who haven't been slotted by Ukrainian or foreign snipers. They've lost upwards of half a dozen senior commanders apparently.

I'm sure they'll only be those commanders who putin already had his eyes on as potential candidates for staging a coup.

Only thing I can see Russia accepting is the full Donbass region Oblasts plus to effectively land lock Ukraine. As they build a land corridor to Moldova.

I think that is too far. I think they will want the eastern oblasts as you say, probably as "independent provinces", but they might also want to connect them to Krim. I don't think they will try to get anything west of Dniepr though.

USD has retained its value by being the global base currency. America has retained its relevance. This was always going to happen at some point but it's end of empire stuff

Are the Saudis really willing to play this game though? Doing this hurts them in the long run (China:Iran is far stronger than China:Saudi imo)

Russia has imposed personal sanctions against representatives of the US leadership and persons associated with them, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The list of sanctioned individuals includes 13 people, including US President Joe Biden, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, CIA Director William Burns and Son of US President Hunter Biden.

They even sanctioned "former Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton" for some reason, but didn't sanction Trump, who was supposedly "tough on Russia." I wonder why...

Oh, and apparently they sanctioned "Joe Biden Sr." – the current President's long-dead father, a car salesman from Pennsylvania – by mistake instead of Joe Biden Jr. the President. Almost Trumpian level of sloppiness.
