If he's now more of a deep lying playmaker who's legs are starting to go then it's a firm no.
Pretty much. He would be the best passer in our midfield, no question, but for sure we couldn't rely on him as much as we're relying on Gini now.
That is a very important point. However even though one season isn't always a fair comparison Thaigo played 2,809 mins for Bayern (so far) this season, whereas Gini played 3,644One of Gini's underrated plus point is that he is always available for selection. For a manager like Klopp, whose tactics rely on positioning and team work, that is a huge plus. Thiago's frequency of missing games through injury appears much higher than Gini.
Thing is that for me, I think teams think that too and then sometimes he's just like 'oh yeah, I forgot I can do this, la la la, skin a couple people and score a goal'I think what everyone is glossing over here is that Gini is mostly shit.

I think Gini would be a welcome addition to any team's midfield. Barca would be so much more solid with him instead of Vidal, Real could definitely use him, he would walk into United and Juve's midfield, rotation at City and Bayern. Obviously played the most midfield minutes for us in the back-to-back 97 and 99-point seasons and indispensable to his national team too. If that's "mostly shit," I'd like you to name some better midfielders.
I think Thiago is one of the best midfielders in the world. Top 3-like.
I think Gini is a Top 20-midfielder and he has been one of my favorite players in the squad for some time.. but Thiago.. he's just incredible, very very few at his level.
Van Dijk
Thiago
Salah
Mane
It just won't get much better than that.. except;
Van Dijk
Thiago
Salah
Mane
Dolberg
*He's doing great btw, like setting Nice on fire..
