Anyone up for just not mentioning this fella anymore?
He's long gone, and I'll say he is a better manager than Hodgson certainly, but can we all just move on and hope for a new and fresh manager, and stop pining over Rafa?
I know that 'The Liverpool Way' is interpreted in as many ways as the words of Allah, but does anyone really think that publicly falling out with every chairman you've ever worked for and blaming resources is what would ever have previously fitted that description?

Snow on the ground and a 'just in Merseyside' sign on the top left corner................ and some people are saying I wonder where it is??

If it was a choice between sticking with hodgson or replacing him with Rafa you would have to be a lunatic to say no, but that isn't the situation. I would be happy to have him back generally however so I am as biased as those who wanted him gone were blind.
We will limp on to finish in the top 8 or so and Roy will be replaced by somebody new.

That would be a dreadful decision to have to make.
I want something exciting to look forward to, not a rehash of the last few years.
Benitez heart was still firmly in Liverpool when he got sacked. He shouldn't have taken the inter job so soon. If it were a competition about who cared most about our club then rafa wins hands down over uncle woy.
I don't get the intensity of hostility to rafa here. Fair enough last season was not good enough. But he is and was the best thing managerially to happen to our club in the last twenty years. He deserved to go but he doesn't deserve some of the flak he gets here.
Its pretty apparent that the lack of backing and board pressure changed rafas personality and stance here in his last years. If he had his time again with a patient and sound backing with decent advisers on transfers i would take him every day over Roy. Rafa is one of the best coaches tactically and we know that to be true. He isn't infallible though.

I agree with that last part 100%. He was well and truly backed with adequate funds here and it didn't work for him. Rafa's problem occurs when he takes too much notice of his own counsel on transfers. Were he leave that to someone else (Paco) as he did at Valencia then he'd be great since, as you say, tactically he's excellent.
Tactically he's excellent - yes, as long as you're facing Real Madrid or Barca in the Champions League. Very often, against patently inferior PL teams, our tactics were ludicrously negative and overcomplicated, and we paid the price - even in our best Rafa-led season - with a morass of boring draws.

Not true. Regardless of the prizewinning lash-up that Roy's making of the job, the time had definitely come for Rafa to move on. Ask Carra if you don't believe me.

Yet now we play seemingly without a 'game plan' against these shitty teams as Hodgeson 'doesn't rate' scout reports so and we still get spanked..

No one said Woy was a tactical genius. Ever

Indeed. Saying 'Benitez is a tactical genius' takes a very different meaning when you add the words 'compared to Hodgson' on the end.
