There a thread on this?

Anyway, Coates is in the Uruguay squad. I thought he'd died.

Wow. Uruguay must be really struggling to field centrebacks. He's played like 4 or 5 games on loan at Nacional since returning from his ACL injury. Still 2 years to run on his contract with us.

As it doesn't seem like he has a future with us - I hope he he has a dominating world cup for us and Barca come in with a 10 million bid.

Switzerland's 23 man squad
(Drmic had a great season with Nurnberg. Interesting to see how he does at the WC.)

Fuck me, Germany are really heavy in midfield without much up front.

The more I look at that Brazil squad the more I'm convinced they won't win it. I've just collected £200 on my pre-season speculative bet that Man United wouldn't finish in the top 6 and will re-invest that money betting against Brazil reaching the quarter finals if I can get odds of 11/4. I expect them to qualify from their group but wouldn't be at all surprised if they lost their next match which should be against either Spain or Chile.

what happened to Mario Gomez?

[article=http://www.dw.de/germany-unveils-preliminary-world-cup-roster/a-17619139]Löw said Gomez's lack of fitness and playing time were the main reasons behind the striker's omission.

"I really wish for the team that Mario Gomez had been fit and that he had played in the last few months," Löw said, adding that Gomez had only played about 280 minutes since September.

Only a matter of weeks following his move to Italy, Gomez suffered injury problems when he damaged ligaments in his right-knee during a match at Cagliari. Soon after his return to training, he suffered a tear in his opposite knee.

He's only managed to feature nine times in Serie A this season, completing only two full 90 minute matches for La Viola in the league. His last appearance for the German national team came in August as a substitute in the 3-3 draw with Paraguay.[/article]

Divock Origi ahead of Michy Batshuayi is a slight surprise. Would've probably been Benteke's spot though.

Strange not to see Isco or Illarremendi for Spain. I think they have both been really good this season.
