Ronaldo, Messi and Shaqiri are the only three players to have scored at each of the last three men's World Cups.

Did Shaqiri score against Serbia? Did he make the two headed eagle symbol again?

That was a tense finish in the Switzerland game. Had to defend a couple of free kicks that could easily have dumped them out.

shame it didn't proper kick off with the serbs and the kosovo crew. was close though
o
also, how lame are you as a ref when you just HAVE to be a jobsworth and give a yellow to the lad from Cameroon who scores a winner in injury time against brasil in the world cup.

He was apologising to the player while he had the cards in his hands.

By the letter of the law, he had no choice.

Key stats (provided by ESPN Stats & Information)

Xherdan Shaqiri scored his fifth World Cup goal, second-most for Switzerland behind Josef "Sepp" Hügi, who has scored six.

Xherdan Shaqiri: First Swiss player to score at three FIFA World Cups -- he scored three goals in 2014 and once in 2018.

Three players have scored in the last three FIFA World Cups: Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Xherdan Shaqiri.

There's still some power in that cube.

Saw a tweet earlier saying that he's younger than Belgian Kevin!

Would have thought he had a few years on him.

This World Cup is so open anyone could win it. France, Portugal, Brazil, Argentina - maybe the 4 favourites - have all lost games and been unimpressive scraping wins in others. I still think France look the best but every match could be a scrap, and England have as good a chance as any it's so wide open.

It's been a great World Cup Group stage so far. Favourites getting eliminated, Good teams losing out on goal difference, qualification going down to extra time goals, take getting punished for being defensive, chaos all over. As a neutral, I'm totally loving it.

Oh and England have one of the best attacks, and who'd have thought?

How's this for a totally weird stat from Group G : Brazil scored the lowest number of goals (3) but finished top. Serbia scored the most goals (5) but finished bottom.

Prediction Time

Saturday, 3 Dec
Netherlands
v USA 2-1 AET
Argentina v Australia 2-0

Sunday, 4 Dec
France v Poland 3-0
England v Senegal 2-0

Monday, 5 Dec
Japan v Croatia 1-1 AET Penalties
Brazil v South Korea 2-1

Tuesday, 6 Dec
Morocco
v Spain 2-1 AET
Portugal v Switzerland 2-2 AET Penalties

He could apply some common sense. He does of course have a choice.
No he doesn't. If he wants to keep on reffing. It's a very clear FIFA regulation - remove your shirt and it's a Yellow. There's no leeway and common sense doesn't come into it (well it does but at the regulation making level - and that's FIFA for you).

It's no different in the PL of course. Straight Yellow for removing your shirt.

and that Salah hating weirdo from Cameroon scored two. The first so he's better than both Salah and Neymar now I guess

He was powered up to the max by his Albanian ancestry while playing the Serbs.

It’s an interesting last 16, all the old big power houses are being kept apart. Quarters could be insane.

Power cube’s is a true performer for the Switz and always seem to score against the Serbs too.
Don’t know why their fans bother winding him up.
Regarding Serbia, with the teams and players they have had, seem to always perform poorly from what I can remember. How many times have they actually made it out of the post Yugoslavia days? Can’t think of many.

Spain will not be upset about coming second in the group. As a result they now have to beat Morocco and Portugal/Switzerland to be in a WC semi-final.

If they topped the group the two games would have likely been Croatia and Brazil.

To be honest the losses for France and Brazil, maybe Spain, Portugal have come with much changed sides after they got their 6 points. I think like you with France looking most likely, but England's chances look very good.

As I said, he has a choice. 🙂
He would get sanctioned though, but wouldn't it be great if they could apply some contextual judgement?
Not being these automatons, like we see in so many aspects of society, rules rules, and their followers, controllers and a horde of controllers of the controllers.

Ok, I am getting off on one here, pointing at NPM practices and visions. As you were...

From a local tipster 😱

Gakpo is out. Must have caught the flu going through through Dutch squad. That's a huge loss for a side that struggles to score.
