David Gill on the board, who the fuck thought that wouldn't cause Bias.

The David Gill thing is so bizarre that I've given up on football. It will be like this until whiskeynose steps down, then something might change.

errr, SIR alex feguson? Of course the cunt will. Gill at the FA, a no brainer.

David Bernstein, FA chairman since 2011 was Man. City's chairman between 1998-2003. How about some conspiracy theories regarding City’s title last season? David Dein FA vice-chairman between 2000-2004 was also Arsenal’s vice-chairman between 1983-2007. Did he contribute unfairly to his club’s invincibility during his time with the FA? Brian Barwick, FA chief executive between 2005-2008 is a known LFC supporter, and currently on the club’s payroll. Did he help his favourite club to consecutive top 4 positions?
I suppose Fergie got “special treatment” by the FA long before Gill’s recent FA role, so this theory doesn’t hold water anyway.

Hang on.

So Bernstein wasn't the CEO at Man City when he was Chairman of the FA. Barwick was not employed by the FA when he was also employed by Liverpool.

So in relation to your point, the only similarity is Dein. Lets go see how many times Wenger was in the dock while Dein was on the FA Board.

Are you suggesting that bias depends on being on a club's payroll? If you knew the chairman of the FA was a season-ticket holder of a rival club would you be OK with that? Barwick was a LFC fan when he was in charge of the FA, and Bernstein's loyalty to City does not depend on a paycheck either.

Fierce rivalry ("hate") and tribalism are what makes this game so great, but conspiracy theories regarding brown envelopes, double-standards by football authorities and so on are embarrassing.

So you don't think that there are double standards and brown envelopes going on?

I think it would add an extra dimension (being on a payroll) as he would obviously be affected by decisions both financially (remuneration through club be in club performance etc) and professionally (making charges against the club that pays him could have internal consequences)

I personally haven't seen anything additional happen since his joining of the board but I do think that it can add to a perceived bias. If you can't see this then I would question your understanding of how businesses (football clubs in this case) and their governing authorities (FA) work together.

Clearly holding a position on the board of a club and a position on the governing body of said clubs sport is a conflict of interests.

I agree.

So we fucked up again by getting a Brian in instead of a David?

WHAT IS WRONG WITH OUR FUCKING SCOUTS????!!!!!

I don't really get into specific conspiracy theories about any one club, however I'd be surprised if there aren't any dodgy goings on in the English game. We know it happens in Spain and Italy. Why not England?

I think the payroll\backhander\brown envelope conversation is complete nonsense but there is a glaring lack of consistency on how the FA operates - that is the main issue. It exists and needs dealing with.

Exactly. The rules seem to be subjective and that always makes for inconsistency.

We should merge this with the "why does everyone hate the English" thread in the GC.

I've long come to terms with my pathological hatred for all things Man United, personified by that horrible whining arrogant lying cunt of a man Alex Ferguson.

If that makes me obsessed then whatevers.

^
This.

And if it makes people feel embarrassed well tough shit.

How can one be embarrassed over the internet?

I suppose it's far more important to look cool over the internet and praise Ferguson,Pulis and the likes.
Yeah those people are so fucking hip and cool.
*knucks and cool guido handshake*

Living in Manchester I can confirm that Scum fans still obssess about us and their angst/bitterness is very much in evidence everytime I remind them that they are still only the 2nd most succesful ever British team.

Their hatred of Suarez is all-consuming and rivals any hatred we have for Ferguson.

Pretty much every word of this.

Gotta love how Woland comes in, OWNS the tread with his simple, but effective "no bullshit" attitude.

Piss face has been asked to come and have tea and biscuits with the F.A and explain what he meant by his comments on Sunday where he said the linesman was really shit and that he should have his eyes poked out.

This is what it looked like when Piss face was last called to the F.A. That's Charlton on the left.

You couldnt make it up could you?

Well actually you could!

He basically called the lino a cheating cunt, and get asked to "explain" his remarks. Fat Sam makes a comment about two similar penalty claims, one given, one not, and gets charged.

I'll be expecting people will claim the FA is a kangaroo court and this injustice should not foisted on a foreigner like Fergie. It wouldn't happen to John Terry.
