Sir Alex Ferguson has hit out at the assistant referee after Clint Dempsey’s stoppage-time equaliser meant Manchester United had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Tottenham.
The Red Devils had led through Robin van Persie’s header, but were pegged back by the American’s late strike, meaning their lead over Manchester City at the top of the Premier League has been cut to five points this weekend.

Sir Alex was furious with the performance of the referee’s assistants, Simon Beck, believing his side should have had a throw-in in the build-up to the goal and for failing to award Wayne Rooney a second-half penalty.
The United boss even re-called how the particular assistant had cost United a key game against Chelsea back in 2010.
“I think we should have had a throw-in down our side of the pitch but that linesman never gave us a thing all day,” he said to Sky Sports.
For me, it was a poor performance by him. He never saw the penalty kick for Wayne Rooney and some other decisions too.
“We remember him well from his time at the Chelsea game when Didier Drogba was three yards offside and he gave onside. I think he had a shocking game today and I’m disappointed in his performance, I really am.
“I think he has had a bad game and we never got anything from that side of the pitch. We got a bad break.”
The manager did lay some of the blame with his side for losing a late goal and for failing to take opportunities to seal the victory as they were unable to make the most of opportunities on the counter-attack.
“We were 1-0 up with a minute to go and looking comfortable at that stage,” continued Sir Alex.
“Tottenham worked their socks off and you’ve got to give them credit for that and I suppose you can’t deny them their point because they worked ever so hard for it. They just kept pumping the ball into the box and got their rewards for that.
“I think we were getting used to the fact they were hitting long balls into the box and we should have dealt with it better. It’s just one of those things; I’ll need to see it again.
“I was generally happy with the team’s performance. We’ve worked hard. It was a good quality of game, both sets of players were committed and fought hard for every ball and both teams were aggressive at times.
“For us, with the counter-attack we should have killed them off four or five times in the second half. I thought it was the final ball that let us down and we should have been better than that. We had opportunities but if you don’t take those chances then 1-0 is not a healthy scoreline in a game of football.”
The result cut United’s lead to five points in the title race, although Sir Alex didn’t feel a draw against Spurs was a poor result.
He added: “Everyone will recognise this was a difficult game. We’ve had all our hard games away from home so far so we can be pleased at that part of the season.
“Teams will drop points here, there’s no doubt about that. Tottenham are a very good team and they might take points against the teams that matter to us. Manchester City are still to come here.”

Of course fuck all will happen. He gets away with it time after time but the shithouse FA don't want to confront him.

The David Gill thing is so bizarre that I've given up on football. It will be like this until whiskeynose steps down, then something might change.

But after charging Allardyce for a less offensive comment in the week, if they don't charge Ferguson surely they'll lose all credibility.........oh....

He's doing it more and more these days. Does he think he's that untouchable? I'm hoping he's in some sort of death spiral and will soon smash into little pieces.

This sites pre-occupation with Fergie is fucking embarrassing.

Most of our fans are as bitter as any Everton or Newcastle fan they poke fun at.

It's not a fixation, he's a twat who gets away with murder.
It is a fixation mate. And who gives a fuck what he gets away with. We need to get our own house in order and not worry about Fergie.
Its irrellevant to us.

It isn't at all. It clearly skews decisions in their favour and we're as directly affected by that as every other competitor of theirs.

Can't see how answering a question is a fixation or embarrassing meself. I can't see how talking about Demento or any inconsistencies applied to him makes us bitter either. Bitter and obsessed ? Which are the two teams that sing about us every game, without fail, regardless of whether we're playing them ? Man U and Everton. We never bother unless we're actually playing them. And since when were football fans supposed to be all fuckin zen like and shit and not to have a pop at their closest rivals? It's footy. Its supposed to be tribalistic and passionate, we give our rivals shit and banter. We can admire them and respect them at the same time as disliking them. What are we supposed to do ? How are we supposed to act then? Sit around pictures of Ginsoak and chant or sing Kum By Ya in praise of the great ruling one ? Kin el la.

Embarrassing, fuck off.

Spot on.

Let's not discuss or have an opinion on anything eh. Wouldn't it only be embarrassing if this was a multi club forum by the way?

It's not but carry on. Fuck me some of the fans of this club are pathetic. If its not bad enough some of them are ripping their own club with their all knowing morally outraged critique it's now simply not the done thing to criticise or discuss your rivals lest one may embarrass oneself. Fuck that.

No fair play L, I await the same thread starting when Redknapp or Pulis or Martinez critiscise the refs performance.

Except I wont.
Because it wont happen.
But no im sure its not a pre-occupation at all, im sure no one on here is bitter about United.

Excuse me? Where did I rip our club?
Im actually very positive about our club, our manager, our direction, our owners, our transfer policy etc.

I love our club.
I hate their club. I still think its embarrassing to start a thread everytime their manager speaks.
Obviously im in a minority.
Obviously thats nothing like their fans singing about our club.

When Redknapp or Pulis or Martinez do it as often and as vitriolically as that old cnut and get away with it, those threads will start.

Except they won't do that.
That's why it won't happen.
As if you didn't know.
