Can't live with them, can't kill them.
Within 5 minutes of coming in tonight, I was asked to make sure I hung the washing out. At the 3rd comment, I took the stuff out of the machine and went upstairs to hang it before the 4th comment. As I did so, she asked why I was doing it now when I should be spending time with my daughter! So I put the washing back down and went in to see my daughter and she then moaned about my leaving the washing on the stairs!
She then ranted at me, said some pretty unpleasant things and so I went upstairs and hung the washing out to get to let her cool off. 30 mins later and after our daughter had been put to bed, I asked if she was alright and asked her for an apology for her behaviour.
My bad, she hasn't spoken to me since! But has taken one of my beers and drunk it in front of me and behaved as if there was nothing wrong in front of our friend who came round to watch the football.
Looks like I'm a) in for a fun birthday tomorrow and b) not in with much chance of a birthday shag. Ah well, there's always next year! ;D
