Mane has been crap; for the amount of ball he's had. Very wasteful.

Thankfully that chance was lined up for Diogo and not Bobby.

That's where it's useful to have 3 potential goalscorers upfront. If one is shite (Mane today), we at least have a chance that the other 2 won't be.

Fortunate to go in 0-1 up. Thiago is a problem tho. He's neither one thing nor the other. Not a great defensive player and offers little going forward. Still hit and miss all over the front 3. Mane looks a bit better. Still nothing in the can so far.

Thank fuck for that.

Mane has been great, involved in everything, deserves a goal.
Which is it?

Thiago is just really really loose with his back passes. He isn't adjusting to the pace of the league and he's losing focus.

Not the best half to say the least and a bit of a CL backlash.
The front three have looked threatening and great to see Jota hit the target.

Great to score a goal from open play again...

Pawson will luck for an early opportunity to make up for his error and give an easy pen.

Phillips looking good, Trent a bit better.Few signs that a bit of form is coming back but our league form could hardly get any worse.

Both. Mane has been at the heart of all of our best play, and has been very aggressive in his running, and really involved.

He missed one really good chance, but other players would have gone down. On a good day he'd have two, but he's not had one of those good days for a while, and neither he nor Salah were ever ruthless finishers, they thrived on a team producing lots of chances.

Have to say that was a forgetful half but we fucking scored! And after me saying their fluidity made no sense it actually worked when we had a moment on the counter and Mane played the Bobby role nicely.

Gotta take it

Watching Philips at CB the way he plays is very much in the vein of a Jamie Carragher/Stephan Honchoz. willing to put his body on the line for the cause.

For me; with all our CB fit first coice pair would be VVD Matip then VVD Philips. Gomez third. and Kabak fourth...

Kabak is a decent player but he plays his best games on VVD side of the pitch

Looked like a certain penalty. Alisson still looks a bit uneasy. Bout time we got the benny from VAR......VAR must be on the blink..
