Wolverhampton Wanderers v Liverpool Match Thread

Lovren duly obliged with three comedic lapses of concentration. But of course we're all superstitious fools and it was just a coincidence.

Is it me or does Klopp sound like he's just boshed 3 love doves at halftime! He's talking a million miles an hour! LOL

There was a moment around the 80th min mark I think where one of their attackers was running into space over on our left side with us short at the back. I was panicking because VVD was just jogging back... I needn't have. He somehow caught up without breaking stride and just took the ball off him.
Jimenez? He tore forwards towards the corner and Big Virg just strode up and robbed the ball and released Andy Robertson with a good forward ball.

He is boss. Like £200m boss.

I really didn't realise he was this good before we signed him and in his first few games, I didn't see this level of performance in him. Consistently too.

Mind you, he'd just come back from a long term injury.

Another 2 CFs today in his pocket. Against Troare, he let him run and shoot wildly from tight angles knowing his quality was pure speed and to twist and turn.

And against Jiminez, he just bullied him off the ball like he was a small child.

Such intelligence, such skill, such grace. It's kind of like when we were watching Suarez. But only at the back.
VVD ... just simply amazing and simply the best...worth every million. Your comments spot on.

Merry Christmas everyone..

Top of the tree - 48 points. Only 7 conceded.

Don't get much better.

Fabinho looking like the player we bought. All we need now is one to go in off Keitas shins and he'll show us why we paid €50m+ for him.

We're too well-mannered. Whenever a team does make a point of bringing out the ball boys and the huge beach towels for throw ins, I really think we should insist on the same service - it's in the rules. Then we should really go for it - dry that football within an inch of its life, take ages - thoroughly dehydrate it, even bring on some eczema. Absolutely drain the life out of the game, so the ref cannot stand it any more. That's the way to end that nonsense.

We could finish it off with one of those snazzy Dyson hairdryers, too.

Correct regarding Fabinho - but Keita is doing something right - which retaining the ball and carrying it a little - that is helping the midfield quite a bit at the moment. Wolves had more of the ball I think after Keita was taken off.

One of the banana skins of the season gone, and we seemingly didn't get out of third gear

Love it

[bcolor=transparent]Eight of the past nine teams to have led the league on 25 December have gone on to win the title. The one side that did not was Liverpool in 2013-14 - they finished second, two points behind Manchester City.[/bcolor]

Yep. And before that the only other team to do it was .... Liverpool in 2008

Third time lucky

The fuck are we superstitious! I had to claim we were dropping points several times and @Fabio had to be ultra negative to cancel out Degsys bad juju.

City have won all their home games but drawn a couple and lost one away. Tomorrow they'll have played two more home games than us. Let's hope they drop some points at Leicester and Southampton and we win our games.

Going to the emptihad with a four or five point cushion would take so much pressure off us and put so much on them, we'd twat them.

I'll shut up now and have a wank instead.

The footballing Gods are a merciless, insatiable bunch. We won't win the league this year. In fact, we'll never win it again.

This Adama Traore if he could shoot properly he could be an awesome player
Yes you are right - he was really difficult to deal with in the M'boro side last season I think (or maybe the season before), his pace is unbelievable, but it ain't just his shooting - his decision making is poor and that is why M'Boro sold him. I understand he is not getting enough game time at Wolves recently and M'Boro are thinking of signing him back or something. I think Klopp would consider him the same as Jordan Ibe.
