If we play 3-5-2 with johnson and aurelio as our wing-backs, why the fuck is maxi getting a game let alone playing as 1 of the CM's

Reina, Carra, Kygiakos, Skrtel, Johnson, Aurelio, Lucas, Meireles, Maxi, Suarez, Kuyt - if that is the team

Reina

Carra Soto Skrtel

Johnson Aurelio

Lucas Meireles

Pacheco

Kuyt Suarez

Swap Maxi for Pacheco

Maxi's disappointed me. End of last season/beginning of this, he was starting to play a bit and I hoped he'd kick on this season. Now I agree we can do better.

Hey, we still don't know if Maxi will start or not. So as the saying goes...keep hope alive.

Maxi tends to play much better a) at home, and b) when the team is playing well. So hopefully he'll be OK today, given that we don't have many alternatives.

Without wanting to sound like a Negative Nelly, I have this nagging feeling that last week's epic victory, along with the International break and injuries to key players could all lead to this game being a banana skin moment for us.

I really want us to put a hurting on this team.
I am with Nelly on this one. Definately worried that this might not yield all three points.
It is being shown live on Setanta Ireland for any Irish who have it

COME ON YOU REDS

Let's make it five wins in five!!

Wigan are shit. Liverpool win. Easy.

edit: oops, I'm meant to be doing the old reverse jinx.

Liverpool are shit. Wigan win. Easy.

Any win will do.

I think Themn's right: the international break came at the wrong time for us, plus we have a seriously weakened team and none of the obvious motivation that came from playing Chelsea. I doubt it'll be a classic.

I really hope Suarez starts and scores.

Luis Suarez makes his full Liverpool debut against Wigan Athletic at Anfield this afternoon - listen live online from 2.55pm.

The Uruguayan striker is handed his first Reds start in attack alongside Dirk Kuyt in a 4-4-2 formation, though Steven Gerrard misses out through injury.

Liverpool: Reina, Kelly, Carragher, Skrtel, Johnson, Maxi, Meireles, Lucas, Aurelio, Kuyt, Suarez. Subs: Gulacsi, Kyrgiakos, Wilson, Poulsen, Pacheco, Jovanovic, Ngog.

Thats the team I predicted aswell, not to confident but hopefully Suarez can inspire us.
