I have important news from the streets.

He was on my lunchtime flight to Dublin from Liverpool yesterday. Ryanair. He didn't have priority boarding, he was in with us proles... It made me wonder if the broadcaster is on a budget or if Mc himself is on a fixed fee and doesn't care about that potentially dicey extra few minutes in a queue. Anyways, Ryanair now allocates seats at random if you don't pay - a cunning ruse to make people travelling together pay to sit together - but he broke the law when some Arsenal fan started to try to talk to him as we boarded - he quickly swerved his own seat and made for a three seater all of his own.... Which makes me wonder how difficult it was for his coaches to get him to stick to his position on the pitch.

I don't know if this info is pertinent in the decision making process.

Shady bastards. Didn't know about that, thanks for the heads up. I presume it's across all Ryanair flights, not just to Dublin?

Yessir.

The thing is, it makes that priority boarding thing defunct and it stops that stupid queuing crap so it's actually a good thing. If your'e on your own it costs nowt coz you just go where you're put, but if you're with someone it costs an extra fiver each and you get to pick where you sit.

Flybe and Easyjet do it now as well, think it's standard. It's boss for me to just turn up late and drunk through boarding 5 mins before it leaves but it costs a bomb if you wanna sit with your kids or something

Easyjet have different prices depending on the seat you want. I had to pay 99p last time

i've always refused to pay so i've never looked into the pricing options. The shittest seats that they say are my preference anyway. If it's an aisle seat I can dip off straight away and not have to wait 10 mins for everyone to figure out how to put a coat on

I'd rather have a window. That why you don't have to get up every time some dopey cunt wants to get something out of the overhead locker. You can also lean your head against the wall when sleeping.

Last time I travelled via Easyjet, they stuck me in the the aisle and the two fuckers beside me were constantly getting out of their seat for various reasons. 99p was well worth it.

Swings and roundabouts. Personally I prefer an aisle seat (a) because of the extra room and (b) because in a window seat you yourself become the dipstick who's making others move when you need to get out.

re thread lock..

we have an auto lock facility in place which locks threads after prolonged period of inactivity..

stops tedious bumping of old topics...

to be fair i've not been on anything more than a 2 hour flight in ages so i've not encountered a problem

I normally sleep when I get in the plane. Unless I've been drinking, I don't move much

I can never sleep on the plane. Mrs. Athens, who claims to be afraid of flying, can.

I used to not be able to sleep, so I'd sit at the window and peer out. But now I can normally drop off before the the plane has taken off.
