living in the states, came here quite a few years ago from dublin. localny was my name on a board years ago before SCM, and it was easy for me to remember when I joined KT and then SCM.

work and live in american english, so I have to toe the line!

on a separate note, worked for an irish company in america many years ago (they had ny office) and I used to get emails saying "we love your company and would love to give you business, but all your research reports have spelling errors". Pointing out that we used Oxford English didn't exactly help win them over as clients. I kid you not. it's kind of like what Bunnyman just did!

it was the way you put color rather than colour, so I looked 'properly' at you user name and got the 'ny', seriosuly just didn't notice before. well at least being thousands of miles away you have a genuine excuse for not going to matches and watching absolute dross.

the problem is, we're not going to finish above arsenal. the only one of the top 4 i think we've any chance of catching is man city, and we're already 8 points adrift. it's ridiculously early to say it, but i think 4th place is probably already beyond us.

yeah, i think that's true of quite a lot of americanisms actually. but i think things like 'color' are due to a deliberate drive among early american intellectuals to simplify eccentric english spelling, IIRC Thomas Jefferson was among them.
