I think anyone who is still supporting roy is supporting roy for support sake rather than footballing reasons because frankly there aren't any (footballing reasons to support him).

The people who support Roy are the Little Englanders and British media types who abhor pesky foreigners coming in and ruining our football and managing our top clubs. And SlurAlex.

As there werent any reasons to support Rafa

Woy=Rafa, shite 4-2-3-1 cautious negative football

Well, Crumpster, I don't think you were posting on here when he was appointed. I can only think of Stu, Bunny and Squiggles really championing Roy.

Most of us hoped for the best once he was in. Certainly by the City game it was clear he had no idea waht he was doing.

P.s I love you Gene.

I'm a big fan of Tomkins and this is spot on.
A big fan of Bumpkins?

OH DEAR
I also don't mind him. Never could understand why he got so much flak for being a bit too emotional/sentimental...

Anyway, if the club listens to the fans, they should know Roy's time is up. If they have any clue, they should know it's not going to get any better. Thanks for the summer of steady hands Roy, but it's not going to work.

Yeah Souey has some neck speaking about LFC in any way whatsoever..

I'm not a big fan of Tomkins, and I only read the first few paragraphs of his article. However, what I read was spot on in this case. I presume the umpteen following paragraphs was just him labouring the point.

His brother, Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad, is well more interesting.

Its been a long time since we as posters and fans have been united, it's a shame that its under these circumstances.

Tompkins was always going to stick the boot in. He is the uber Rafa lover isn't he?

Point is most of us knew this was the wrong appointment.
Thing is, I actually didn't. I didn't think it was so bad. But I was wrong. The whole thing is a mess and considering the thing that everyone expected him to do - get everyone in the right frame of mind, fighting for each other and believing in themselves - is the thing he's failed at worst since day one, they should be changing the locks at his office right now.

I just hope that the dudes in the boardroom can throw their hands up and admit it too. Come on Purslow, I've got it off my chest and I feel a bit better for it. Just say you were wrong and sort it out.
x2

Let's leave it out with the Tompkins love-in though, shall we? He's not suddenly become a brilliant, spot-on writer: he's as boring and long-winded as he ever was. The only difference now is that he's massively cheered up, as have most of the Rafa apologists, because he wrongly assumes that Hodgson not being good enough means everyone should suddenly realise that Rafa was good enough, after all.

Well, he wasn't. Sorry Paul (and KopKing, Asbo, rebel23 and all the other loonies on here).

Roy had one thing going for him, he wasn't the once great manager who had steadily lost the plot, who was dragging our team into the shit. So no, I wouldn't have him back as I remember why I wanted him gone. Roy not being up to it isn't related.

How's the 'One great manager' thing working out? You can attempt to justify it all you want, but you can't escape the fact that like Hissing Purslow, you were tragically wrong. He doesn't know anything about football either.

I said enough was enough last season, I also said that IF we are going to replace our most succesful manager in 20 years, make sure we get better, because otherwise whats the point?

In a few years time, when people look back, Rafa won't be looked on like a Souness, he'll be looked on like he should be, the manager who got us to 2 Champions League Finals, made us feared again in Europe and brought us some Pride.

To an extent. I explained to you yesterday but you, not for the first time, have casually forgotten what was said to suit you. I fear what we could become by sacking a manager after seven PL games than I do what could happen to us if Roy stays on. How is sacking ONE man in a club where a dozen need the boot going to fix anything? It's not in my opinion.

There's a case for many arguments here. Yes, the players are totally underperforming and need a rocket up their collective arses. It is Roy who defines the team, positions and tactics and there's some massive problems there also. I'd give him a few more games but not many

I casually forget lots of things, whether they 'suit me' or otherwise

Usually when I'm not interested in something, or someone.

Well I still support Roy and want him to succeed. I would have thought that point of view would have you rubbing your hands together with glee considering the crusade you have been on since the final whistle yesterday.

Why? There is nothing in his record to suggest that giving him more games will improve our situation. His appointment was a mistake, the wrong manager in the wrong club. He needs to be gone yesterday. Prolonging the agony will only exacerbate matters.

Originally I'd have said give him the season. Now I'm more inclined to take him at his word and judge him after ten games, which would give him three games to save his job - three wins expected, two wins and one draw just about acceptable provided there's clear evidence of improvement in our play.

22.09.2010 2 - 2 Northampton Anfield League Cup 3rd round
25.09.2010 2 - 2 Sunderland Anfield Premier League
30.09.2010 0 - 0 Utrecht Galgenwaard Europa League GS
02.10.2010 1 - 2 Blackpool Anfield Premier League

12 days of hell, he's had his chance, and giving him the Everton match away isn't going to be easier than fucking Blackpool
