reminds me of when i was a kid: i used to do a superb Hodgson impression, and for some bizarre reason my best mate used to get me to crank call the Next Directory (of all things!) all the fucking time to complain in the character of an irate Woy. the people there must've thought we were fucking mental - and they'd have had a point. what larks!
It is crazy to think how much negativity he brought to the club. He was a totally grim appointment. Anfield with big empty spaces in Christmas games- it was a terrible thing.

No, still can't really laugh about the Roy episode. And some of those things are far too close to being true for my liking

Truth is - if he had turned it around (which I doubt) - we would all want to suck his balls. If he continued on the same streak before his departure then I think there would either be riots after each home game.
We were all so desperate for some good news at the time that I reckon he'd have been given time if he'd only done half as well as Kenny did on taking over from him. The simple fact is that he was in over his head with the Liverpool job and that rapidly became obvious after he arrived, not only from results on the pitch but also from his antics and increasingly loopy statements off it. His pals in the media must know that, but they can't be seen to back down from their support for him, hence the loopy allegations that "the fans never gave him a chance".
