West Ham United v Liverpool Match Thread

No shape without a natural RB who too often wasn’t holding a position on the wing. Weak in the middle and out of touch up front. Lucky not to lose.

This confused me so much - We were playing so slowly with two players who can pass well and move the ball quickly.
So gutted at their inability to do something today.
Fabinho doesn't receive the ball with open shoulders and so he has to bounce the ball back. That's a typical feature of a DM.

Shaqiri was playing within himself. Came on and took little risk. It was disappointing. Mind you, he could have set up the winner (I believe) if Origi was a better finisher.

The last chance? That came from Keita, and he was offsides but lino missed it again.

West Ham we’re bang average as an attacking threat and in possession, but had decent defensive organisation.
That should NOT be enough to keep out a team with title ambitions. Mid table teams creates clear cut chances against West Ham, we huffed and puffed without patience, intelligence or craft.
We’ll play much better teams than this, in the next few games, who will have more ability to punish us.
Pivotal period in the season for us now.

Gap 3 points

6th Feb - Everton vs City

9th Feb - Liverpool vs Bournemouth

10th Feb - Man City vs Chelsea

24th Feb - Man United vs Liverpool

27th Feb - Liverpool vs Watford
- Man City vs West Ham

We need to start winning.
We also could use a couple of good goal averages.

It looks like they will be top now going into the international window.

That sucks given how close we have been to a 10 point lead.

Feels like we are fucking it up.

Indeed. When city beat us a month ago, gap was 4 pts. A month later it's 3pts. Positives?

There is at least a reasonable chance they could drop some points against Chelsea or Everton.

They probably won’t but they may.

You're fucked mate.
Get a shrink, or a wife.
YOu'll need one soon enough.

Basically got both.

Got my hopes up when Gerrard slipped. Never again. I'd rather not get my hopes up and have them dashed. Anything good that happens is a pleasant surprise.

Actually @LeTallecWiz, I will get a new sport if fucking Spurs win it before us. I'll be done with footy then.

What am I saying? Of course they'll win it before us.
