It's easy to say that asking Shelvey to replace Suarez, whose genius movement is often wasted on the mediocrity around him, was bound to fail, but the fact is there aren't that many solutions to this problem.
It's high time to try losing in a different way at this point, at the very least.
And the Cole decision is preposterous, I almost wonder whether it's motivated by some desire to move him on, because it's a dead end, in terms of this teams development, even if he was playing well. I suppose the only logic is unlike anyone else on this team bar Gerrard in times past, he has at some point scored goals with some measure of consistency.
