We'll never finish above Utd...

lol, signed two strikers and two attacking midfielders/wingers and apparently we didn't try to replace Suarez.

We tried to replace Suarez with two players that only managed to make the English squad for the first time at the ages of 25 and 31.
An unheard of 20 year old and a very risky Italian that is by all account on "his last chance at a big club"

I'm not sure anyone should be "lol"ing really.

So far, three signings worth £50m have had minimal game time because of injury, I'd have thought that makes the "too soon" comment fucking obvious.

I'm of the opinion that part of making a player worth money is that they're available to play.

If we spent 50m on players and they haven't given us anything, then maybe we could have spent it a bit better.

I don't mean we need to make a final judgement on every player now, obviously not. But we're allowed to say that we may not have a perfect squad. And we're allowed to end up wrong too.

There's 11 spots, it doesn't matter if you replace Suarez with 20 players. If you can't replace the quality he provided you haven't really done much except increase the size of the squad. Just look at Spurs.

Cool, so we just need to buy someone as good as Suarez for you to be happy

I'll send a letter to Rodgers to let him know we should have bought Messi or ronaldo

I don't disagree with that, just the statement from Modo saying we didn't even try to replace Suarez.

None of that changes the fact we clearly did try to replace Suarez.

Tell him to ask PSG about Cavani too.

I dont know if Cavani can be better than Balo.....

The difference in quality is not going to be that stark. We went for the younger player who was good value for money.

I dont quite see why Modo is having palpitations about missing out on Cavani...

Mate, can you take a break with all the negativity. It's fruitless. Yes we lost one of the best players in the world. Yes, we didn't replace like with like. We wish we could have signed Falcao but our owners don't spend 18M on loans with no returns. It's obvious we miss his magic and we aren't seeing it in other parts of the park yet. But, teams have sold top talent before and got better over time. Let's hope that's us. The manager and the team have earned our patience. Can we move on now please.

Last year we had one of the best players in the world coming back from suspension.

It might be too soon to assess the squad, but it seems that we haven't strengthened the team at all.
We have a bigger squad sure, but we just haven't replaced the quality Suarez offered.

Arguably not till it, and Brendan, have had a whole season. For doing so to be even remotely meaningful, I'd say New Year at the absolute earliest.

I think we may be talking about separate things. By assess, I don't mean make final decisions on whether we keep them. But we need to know sooner than next July, if we need to buy another keeper(we do), or a better striker(this can wait a while to see how Balotelli does) and so on. We need to know what our squad is missing, so we can make plans to improve it in January. To do that, we need to assess it now and continually over the next three months.

Why didn't Rodgers think of that?

Just replace the quality Suarez offered

He clearly missed a trick there.

A game next month. I've been on crutches for 5 weeks so needs good blowout. Go the game then go and get fucked after. Sure @FoxForceFive will fancy it too. Hull? West brom?
