Welcome back King Kenny!
Never thought I'd see you back as mnager of LFC - good luck!

I think we need to have a rule on 6CM that we don't criticise Kenny. At least nothing abusive or offensive. He's risking his own reputation and a taking on a huge amount of stress to help rescue the club he loves. He's also doing something he hasn't done for a long, long time. It's not going to be easy. Whatever problems he faces, and whatever defeats we suffer in the next six months (and we will: the squad is still pretty poor), we need to stick together now and get behind the manager, the players and the club.

YNWA King Kenny.
In one fine stroke, the powers that be have made me feel one with the club. It is a bit corny perhaps to put it like that, but i do feel as though we will grow together and i will cherish the ups and downs Kenny Dalglish's regime will bring to us, however short lived it is...

YNWA Kenny! I always wanted you as our manager, and i'm not saying it only because Roy Hodgson was horrible in his job.

Finally the fans are united, for a while anyway. No more embarrassing interviews either, mostly because no one will have a clue what kenny is saying. LONG LIVE THE KING.
He used to do that deliberately to wind them up.

Granda TV did a programme on him in the 80's which will look dated now but its worth trawling the archives for it. I'm sure I've got it twice on VHS - just in case one gets spoiled by the ejaculations!!!

Respect finally should be guaranteed from the playing staff. Good luck King Kenny.

To celebrate Kenny Dalglish's return to Liverpool Football Club, we've chronicled the great man's career in numbers.

440,000 pounds. That's how much Bob Paisley paid Celtic in August 1977. Dalglish was brought to the club to replace Kevin Keegan after his move to Hamburg

30,461 fans turned out for The King's testimonial at Anfield in 1990, helping raise in the region of £150,000 gate receipts. The Reds beat Real Sociedad 3-1

836 club games

515 Liverpool appearances

339 club goals

321 Celtic appearances

307 games in charge at Anfield

259 games to score 100 league goals

180 consecutive first-team appearances between 1977-78 and 80-81

172 Liverpool goals

167 Celtic goals

102 caps. On becoming the first Scot to make a century of appearances, Dalglish was presented with a silver cap by Franz Beckenbauer

97 minutes to score his first Liverpool goal. After failing to get on the scoresheet in the Charity Shield against Man Utd, King Kenny netted just seven minutes into his league debut versus Middlesbrough

41 goals for Celtic in 1972-73

38 years old when he played his last game for Liverpool, coming on as a sub for Jan Molby against Derby County in May 1990

37 games unbeaten as Liverpool manager from August 1987 to February 1988

37 goals for Cumbernauld United, Celtic's nursery side, during the 1967-68 season.

31 goals in his first season at Anfield

30 goals for Scotland - a record shared with Denis Law

23 goals in just 49 appearances during his first season as a regular at Celtic

19 pieces of major silverware in the Anfield trophy room, accumulated in just 13 seasons

15 Wembley appearances as a Liverpool player

15 years old when he first had a trial at Liverpool in 1966. He played in a B team match against Southport, but no transfer transpired

10 major trophies with Celtic

8 league championships with Liverpool; five as a player, three as player/manager

7 was The King's number

4 Manager of the Year awards with Liverpool and Blackburn

3 European Cup winner's medals

3 World Cups. He would have played in four had a knee injury not kept him out of Mexico '86

2 FA Cup final victories over Everton

2 Football Writers' Player of the Year awards

2 hat-tricks for Liverpool, against Wrexham and Man City

1 MBE

1 red card, against Benfica in 1984-85

1 Kenny Dalglish

And, lo, the question was asked;

"Where is the knighthood for our Champion ?"

Get Kenny to mentor Carra. Maybe he can be our Guardiola.

Not sure about Rushie coming in. Deffo not Barnes!!! (altho I love him!)

I'm much rather have Thommo as his assistant than Rush. Rush comes over as a bit of a wet lettuce.
Agreed, though Thommo can probably go too far in the opposite direction at times.

If Rushy does come, my guess is he'll probably be on the coaching staff rather than the management side of things.

I agree with this sentiment completely, but we cannot apply, nore should we try to apply, a rule stating we cant criticise the man in charge.

I think most will know where the line between critique ends & slagging starts, & those that dont will be put in their place by everyone else, not just us admins.

I've got actual, physical goosebumps, cos I've just pictured Kenny standing on the touchline tomorrow!

1.Is this just a stop gap?

2.Will he get the job permanently if things go well?

3.Will he be allowed sign any players if indeed hes just a stop gap?

Wasn't he already a coach for the strikers?
At one time, yes, but I believe he may have moved on. Couldn't swear to it though.

So does this mean the end for Kelly and Sammy lee? I hope so! They both dont deserve to be anywhere near the manager or helping the manager out.

King Kenny . I can Smell Sir Alex's Shit Allready !

I can't imagine Kelly's still around, as he's very much Roy's man and Roy's appointment. Sammy Lee I'm less sure about, given the existing LFC connection and the fact that we don't actually know how much of a say he had in what was decided and done under Roy.

Alan 'fat drink driving arsehole waste of space' Brazil said yesterday that carra would "Surely do a better job than Kenny Dalglish, as he's played under some fantastic managers".

So, using that logic, Kenny would surely be even better, oh & also, he's managed before. You silly fat cunt.

Nice words from the Guardian:

Yet his achievements are strangely underplayed: the man has won four English titles, for goodness sake, and fashioned arguably the greatest pure footballing side the league has ever seen. (Liverpool's 1987-88 team could teach modern-day Arsenal a thing or two about trying to walk the ball into the net.)

Good for the Grauniad. It's printed some awful garbage about the Roy situation at times these last few months, but it's not been alone in doing so, and that is decent stuff.

Fuck there were some great team-goals back then. Remember when Macca ran out and stopped tha balll on the touchline (would have been our throw in anyway) before we splitted the Arsenal defence with some smooth passing. Orgasmic.

The only criticism I have is that I wish he'd never left in the first place.

Thank God you're back, Kenny Dalglish.
