Wednesday

Rookies. The best time to sack people is Friday afternoon. I thought the Americans would have this shit down.

It'll be called fucking 'black wednesday' in Liverpool history if we fuck Rodgers off and end up with Alladryce as Ancelotti and Klopp laugh us off.

On Wednesday Rodgers is set to dazzle FSG with his new magic trick.

He puts the three notorious envelopes on the table, says that in one of them is his name, and invites Werner to pick which one it is. Werner points to the middle one.

Rodgers opens it, blows into it, and a dove flies out.

He invites Werner to choose again. Werner picks the one on the right.

Rodgers opens it, turns it upside down, shakes it and confetti falls out.

Werner then points to the last envelope.

Rodgers pauses, suddenly points behind Werner and says, 'Oh my god, look at that!' And while Werner looks around, Rodgers runs out the door.

There's no way, top tier talent comes here with Rodgers in charge, and with no marquee players.

But, with Klopp and Ancelotti out of range for maybe valid reasons, what options do they have?

Koemann? De Boer?

Either would be worth considering, though I'd have reservations about both. Otherwise they could look for a caretaker for 12 months until Ancelotti and Klopp are back on the market.

Frank de Boer's agent saying today that he's not looking to leave Ajax unless they want him to go.

We will probably end up with a choice between Aitor Karanka and Eddie Howe.

I don't think I've ever been this torn about a LFC manager. In my life I have been either genuinely saddened when they've gone (Bob, Uncle Joe, Kenny both times, Ged, Rafa, Roy) or delighted (Souness, Hodgson) but this time I desperately want someone more proven and experienced in for a bit, and then I get all unsure and have no idea what we should do for the best.

I supported Rodgers when he was appointed, but if it were up to me I'd always want an experienced manager, as I don't think the Liverpool job is one for a young up-and-comer. FSG have taken a different view so far, but if they make a change now it'll be interesting to see whether their experience with Rodgers has made them reconsider.

If they go for another relatively inexperienced manager I'll give up. If that's their policy then they may as well stick with what they've got.

This week we're packing the middle of the week and playing 1 - 2 - 1:

----------Monday---------
-Tuesday-Wednesday-
----------Friday-----------

If needs be we can switch this to the more defensive 1 - 1 - 3

---------Monday----------
---------Tuesday----------
-Wednesday-Thursday-Friday-

Of course I love it when we just go for broke with Rodgers' preferred 3 - 1 - 1
