I think Jono could be right. Not to worry though - I'm sure Steve Nicol will be available.

Arf!

sorry buddha but I am really not optimistic at all to say the least... I'd like to be, but I just can't see it..

The differance with UTD... they can get results without playing well and without a full strength side...

as for us so far this season.. well.. you just watched it *again* tonight... and well UTD owe us one...
Sorry Rafa-fans but this is a bona fide crisis and the manager is one of those most accountable for that.

It's not just the results but the performances. Something is very, very wrong.
yup.. has he lost the dressing room... i dunno I don't think its comes to that yet... But you could probably say its split down the middle with some.

Their has been one or two players voicing their opinions since the beginning of the season.. which is a cause for concern.

Fair enough, but I've been confident all week that we'd lose tonight and beat the mancs comfortably on sunday. I'm sticking with it.

Should that happen (granted the second result looks remote given tonight), any talk of "Rafa out" will look ridiculously premature. Like I said, we'd be only 4 points off man utd having survived a serious dip in form.

even if we do beat them its what we do after that, that concerns me more... Our squad is lacking to challenge...

its like De Ja Vu.. the Houllier era all over again..

'Dips in form' aren't acts determined by capricious Gods, they're primarily the consequences of decisions by management.

They indicate that something is wrong, not that things can only get better.

With Aquilani to come in for Alonso and an improved right back our squad is little changed from last seasons title-challenging one. I don't remember anyone bemoaning our squad towards the end of last season.

well said carra liverpool are always up for it no matter whats happening on or off the band wagon of the prem league lets turn over the mancs and resume normal service YNWA LFC.

Dips in form are most probably down to capricious fate and management decisions. It's not fair to place the blame solely at one or the other.

Aquilani is an unproven quantity and as for improved right back that argument is open up for debate, at least when it comes to the basics of being a right back...Defending!!.. Arbeloa, although he wasn't a great footballer.. was solid as far as right backs go.. Our defense looked far better with him in the side..

Aquilani looks well weird, there was a shot of him sitting next to Torres during the game. He looks like a hobbit.

You're probably right in terms of winning the title this season. Rafa's gamble has backfired. But once Aquilani comes in I think it'd be fair to hope we'll improve in addition to our inevitable recovery from the present slump.
