Nacional. I heard this rumour earlier today but no-one got onto me "I'll get me Coate" cryptic clue. Pffft. It's a pretty strong rumour at the moment

Well looks like we'll be deffo signing somebody to play CB considering we've just let the greek go.

Cheers Sunny for the info. I'd heard earlier that we'd bid for Parker but must have got my wires crossed.

Might be old news but Rory Smith reckons that we're in for him.

most papers running with coates.

That sounds like a pun.

feels daft saying this since i've never seen the guy play, but i much prefer the idea of this kind of transfer to a scott dann or gary cahill. losing out on phil jones really stung at the time, but the way to hit back is to find a true alternative with the same youth and potential, not settle for a relative journeyman (and i mean relative - no disrespect). just hope this guy's the right choice!

Was really good in the Copa and would love this signing. We need more south americans plus it'll make suarez happy 🙂

Yeah I agree. We need a star at CB and this is the way to get one if we don't have £25m to splash on one. It's a bit risky of course but this guy seems to be really highly rated and we already have plenty of 'ok' CB's so what's there to lose really(except some of the transfer fee of course)?

Agree with most of that, but Cahill's no journeyman.

2 teams, right?

Dann isn't nailed on, but he's definitely an option we're seriously looking at & brum are lying cos at least two clubs have been allowed to talk to dann.

Liverpool’s interest in Birmingham City centre-back Scott Dann has waned while Bolton Wanderers have slapped a prohibitive price tag on England international Gary Cahill.

I'm talking bolton in general. not bothered about cahill to liverpool now.

Bolton manager Owen Coyle has confirmed the club have rejected a "derisory" bid from Arsenal for defender Gary Cahill.
The 25-year-old is entering the final year of his contract at the Reebok Stadium and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been consistently linked with the England international.
Wenger is keen to bolster his defensive options - he is also thought to be interested in Everton's Phil Jagielka - and has money available following the departures of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.
But Coyle says the two clubs are a distance apart in terms of their valuation of Cahill.
He said: "There was a conversation between (Bolton chairman) Phil Gartside and a representative of Arsenal.
"I'm only passing this on as a third party, but the word derisory doesn't even cover it.
"When I make an offer for a player, I'd like to think in the right ball park, but this wasn't even close.
"I spoke to Gary Cahill about it before the Macclesfield game, and he knows everything that's going on."

While Coyle did not confirm how much Arsenal had offered for the player, it is reported that the bid was in the region of £7million.

hahaha, 6m for Cahill.

I might offer Liverpool £1 to get Joe Cole to come wash my car.

Actually, scrap that, stupid idea. I've got a C Max, he'd never be able to reach the roof.

What's a "C Max" and, are you still getting the scooter ?

Well, in fairness they need to sell as it doesn't look like he'll sign a new contract. If it were me I'd rather go in with an embarrassingly low offer than one too high.
