Well, in fairness they need to sell as it doesn't look like he'll sign a new contract. If it were me I'd rather go in with an embarrassingly low offer than one too high.

Oh, come on !

Like Coyle said, it wasn't even "ball park" and Arsenal knew it.

Probably not, but given they need to sell within the next week, it won't be a huge amount more that he goes for, IMO.

Newcastle wanted £15m for Enrique at the start of the window and he only had a year left on his contract too.

Exactly, he went for under half of that.

hahaha, 6m for Cahill.

I might offer Liverpool £1 to get Joe Cole to come wash my car.

Actually, scrap that, stupid idea. I've got a C Max, he'd never be able to reach the roof.
What's a "C Max" and, are you still getting the scooter ?
Ford Focus CMax, & I've got the scooter. Havent got round to sorting my CBT yet though, had way too much on, the scooter's literally just to run me to work & back, the car is for everything else.

come the 31st bolton will snatch arsenal's arm off for 5m
No they won't. He's worth more to them for a season than that.

He's value will still be around £12-13M if he goes this summer.

To be fair, starting offers are often lower than actual valuation of the selling club. Besides, Cahill's remaining length of contract is as long as Enrique's while with Newcastle. Given the amount we paid, Arsenal are entitled to value him at around the same figure.
Arsenal have tabled an offer for the England defender which Bolton have described as "derisory".

The offer has been reported as £6 million, but Wenger this afternoon insisted that figure was incorrect.

"That number is wrong," said Wenger. "It is completely wrong. I believe every negotiation is between two parties and you only have to sell the player if you are all right with the price.

"In this case the information is below what has been spoken about."

Bolton manager Owen Coyle has blasted the offer, saying "derisory doesn't even cover it" while Gartside re-tweeted a message sent by a Bolton fan angered by the offer that told the Frenchman to 'f*** right off'.

Silly thing for a chairman to retweet!

As Wenger has said our bid is over £6 million, but our first offer, imo, should be around £8 million. When you consider that he's only a year left on his contract, Bolton are skint and we sold Clichy for 7 million i dont think we should be paying over £10 million for him but we will because he's English.

That is on the assumption that you are the only club interested in him though, if a few clubs are interested, and I think there are people are making for someone to break cover, then he certainly will go for over £10m.

If there's any money left in the kitty, I think we should bid for him for the following reasons:

He can slot straight in the team, no adaptation

It stops Arsenal getting him

Carra won't last forever so we'll still need another CB in the next two years or less

When Agger gets a long term injury
